wet graphocs card

as above, id complain on channels available. when ive needed to ive complained in the right places and always won and rightly so, absolute urine extraction.

not only have they given you less for whats been lost if that wasnt bad enough

youve had to go without for such a length of time

hasnt even happened to me yet im angry for you

Especially if you kick up a fuss on the forums, they don't want to be seen to be giving bad customer service so will often give in for the sake of saving their reputation. I've seen it done before with people in the exact same situation :)

Update

corsair has inspected my h80i and 290x and has offerd a replacment cooler and $400 for the 290x, i think this eqautes to about £235, not enough to replace a 290x but enough to help out, my guess is they valued the msi 290x on us prices

Reject it and push for more. It's no good them using US prices when things are more expensive over here. Their crap cooler broke and there is no way you should be out of pocket.

GET MOAR. Exactly what you paid for it you should get. Just like Hyburnate said, it's not your fault their crap broke. If you get your GPU working anyway, there's a free 290X for you :D

+1 £235 would only get you a 280X, I'd be wanting enough to get an identical replacement as it is their product that broke it.

Technically £235 would get you a 290X but not a Gaming edition (just reference) as they should be compensating what the card was worth not what a brand new one would cost, before this happened he had a used card and that's the position they should be compensating him for, not giving out new card values.

If somebody wrote off my car I would expect the £2-3k market value from the insurance, not £70k new value.

I'm pretty sure that CLC coolant is meant to be non-conductive. Give it a wipe off with some de-ionised water and dry it.

Old Gamer........get yourself a bucket; a bag of rice...put the card in it......any and all moisture will be absorbed by the rice......then test......usually 3ish days is what you need......it works well on all electronic devices; doesn't always raise them from the dead.....though

If your talking about the £270 290, their overclocking headroom is almost non-existent. They're cheap and are designed to work out of the box. If you want a 290 to overclock, grab a reference one from the MM and WC it or have a ghetto fan mod to keep it cool while overclocking.

That was my first thoughts but im tempted on a brand new powercolor 290 on offer this week, it will cost me £30 overclock as fast as the msi 290x and i will have the full warranty from ocuk

Most people selling stuff on the MM would be more than happy to help out with warranty claims anyway, if it goes wrong you can just message them, if it is bought from OCUK they can just send a courier to pick it up from you. :)

Ummm you do know there are 2 290s at 270......one is the XFX which you are right about the other is the very underrated and awesome PCS+ that one is a beast........

It's true about the second hand value I forgot about that but, would you really want the inconvinience of your perfectly working 70k car dissapearing and being replaced with 3k?

A better way to look at it would be to have your brand new car written off and be given a second hand one.

Where did cars come into this and why? I'm confused.

Post #57 doesn't seem to follow on from anything? :p

I was on about this but only jokingly :p if he can get his same card that's fine but it's just the bare inconvinience in the first place he certainly didn't ask for it to leak over all his goodies haha

Edit: push for a 295x2 hahaha
