We've got Covid and a volcano, we've had Meghan but there's more. The clocks go forward this weekend

Less fuss. The time is just the time, regardless of time of year.

also the change itself would help us as society move towards a more flexible and adaptable way of living and working.
It's 100% more fuss to change it now.

If you want to stay with GMT, why don't you? You can always ask your employer to change your work time etc?

I work shifts anyway.

it’s not 100% more work, we just stop doing it.

we can stay on BST if you want, I’m not that fussed.

just stop switching it, no need.

For farmers, innit?

As a dog owners I love BST.

Darker morning so the dogs don't have us up at silly o'clock and longer evenings to take them out off-lead.

More specifically its Scottish farmers.

But i have never understood why it matters to farmers anyway. My father didnt care what time it was. If there was stuff to do on the farm he got up at dawn and stopped working when it was dark. It's just a number on the clock as to whether that was 5 oclock or 6oclock.

Agreed. Let's not bother changing the clocks this weekend and stay on GMT forever.

Sorted.

Nooooooooo. We need to change to BST and then not put the clock back later this year.

Thing with the farmers is that their crops and animals don't give a **** what time it is in the clock, they're the one profession where it really doesn't matter. They just like being awkward.

Farmers can work in the dark now anyway (and have no issue making a noise all night in summer), there was something called headlights invented a few years ago.

I am the BSTlord, and this is my war tiger!

Together we will vanquish the crazed disciples of GMT and their plague of darkness. Praise be to the light!

I love it that the US change at a different time, which makes meeting scheduling a complete pain in the arse for 2 weeks while it's all thrown out of sync annnnnd then back again

Unless you’re scheduling a meeting in Hawaii or Arizona, they don’t change their times at all.

GMT is a line on the map by which the Queen Empress Victoria knew what time her subjects around the world got to work.

BST is just a modern construct.

I'm with you dude. Hate the lighter evenings. I think we both agreed on another thread that we have the inverted version of SAD which kicks in around about now. For 'normal' SAD, it would kick in around late September.

I have a call with the GP today about this so will let you know how it goes. Depending on how much it affects you I would suggest the same thing. I've put up with it for years but it's got to the point where I'm fed up with being stressed out from March till July. It only starts to abate come August.
