What 125cc should I buy?

Not sure where my Honda cb125r was built but that showed signs of rust after only a year, paint was very thin too.
No doubt the engine would have lasted forever though
 
I'm looking for a 125 at the moment and not really sure what to get. I've got about £1.5k to play with, but bikes have absolutely rocketed up in price this year! There's not much about without moon and back mileage on it.

My ideal bike would be an MT-125 but the cheapest one going is £2.7k! Decent Honda's seem to start from around £2k, and Yamahas, Suzukis etc even higher :(
 
You have to check the usual sites (Facebook marketplace, eBay, autotrader, gumtree) several times a day and be prepared to travel quickly for a good deal. Deals do exist. A couple of days ago I sold my YBR 125, 2016, 5k miles, really excellent condition, for only a little above your budget. Sold to first person to turn up and I priced it a little lower than competition for an easy sale.

I bought and sold mine on FB marketplace.

Check several times a day and move fast. Be prepared to travel. Good luck.
