what age

There's no such thing as being financially ready for kids. At least not for your average family anyway.

I'm nearly 20 with a brother young enough to be my son... It's odd. The only problem with my mum being younger when she had me is that my mates keep callig her a milf :(:)

Yes, I'm really going to post a picture of my mother on an internet forum to a lot of people I don't know.

Girlfriends I don't mind. Mum, no way :)

I come from a massive family and my Nan had 14 kids who had 28 children.
The age of my oldest Aunty is 92 and my youngest Uncle is 60 (32 years my Nan was dropping kids).
My eldest cousin Barbara is 1 year older than her Uncle.

Right now I'm at a point of my life where the idea of kids is not appealing at all and I can quite comfortably say I don't want any. Maybe my attitude will change later in life.

But if I had to chose the latest age at which I'd have them, I don't think much past 35 would be good.

yeah 40 is getting on a bit, your child will get some right abuse if you're 55 when he's 15:p

Dunno about that, my Grandparents were 39 when my Father was born and I don't recall him mentioning any issues in that regard. In fact the way society is going I don't think it is that uncommon for 'professional' couples to 'delay' having kids until later than used to be the case, especially with the age of marriage going up.

For men, I don't think it is such an issue, it is kinda expected that they will sire children into their middle ages especially if they have a younger wife.

Probably depends a bit on what you are used to, for example my grandparents were all about 70 years older than me and I never met any great-grandparents, whereas some families have generations much closer together, so for example I never knew my grandparents to work so it can be a little strange when I hear grandparents working fulltime, as I grew up relating grandparents with OAPs.

have them when you fancy tbh,

my ex ex ex ex ex ex lost our child at 8 months when i was 19 she was anorexic (sp) and couldnt support the little lad (we christened him Finn) due to her stupid eating disorder, ruined me at the time and put her in menetal ward but I'm glad to say she has had two great children since with another lad and good luck to them:)

Since then I've had no real interest (now 35), but if it's something that floats your boat then do it, if not then don't beat yourself up over it it;s not essential as there are far too many people on this planet anyway :)
