What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

Having "completed" Vampire Survivors on Game Pass, have now bought the Steam version to do it all over again. Yes, it's really that good. And today there's a nice bonus of DLC coming out for a bargain £1.59! Why they priced this so cheap is beyond me as they could probably have made such a bucketload from this game even at £9.99

Only bought VS yesterday, and I'm already sleep-deprived. :o

59 and last game played was Elden Ring which I loved once I stopped dying every 5 minutes. Watching epic Xmas giveaways for inspiration for my next game although I have a massive backlog of games already. Life just gets in the way of gaming sometimes.

I love how completely nuts the screen gets at times!

I had so much going on in my last game of Vampire Survivors last night that the frame rate was in single digits. Never seen anything like it. Slowly working through all the unlocks and trying to figure out the secrets.

I'm playing nothing at the moment, I have an aim to play some games by the end of the day but never get chance, having a kid something always going on, last night I thought might get a chance to have a quick on FS2020 but then he throws up all over the bed.

that's why dads with young children switch over to turn based games.

I put a few hundred hours into Xcom2 so they got me Midnight Suns for Christmas.

Baby pukes, no problem, need to take out the rubbish, no problem, door goes, no problem.

I tried this but with everything switched to max and native 4k I'm only getting 29fps on a 3090.

Seems a bit silly that I can't run it at at least 60fps

The engine has various optimisation issues that are due to be patched supposedly, in the meantime DLSS will increase the fps and not affect image quality. Not sure why people are so afraid to try DLSS these days given its massive pros and minimal cons lol. Most games coming out now have these issues, and DLSS/FSR ultimately help at giving good framerates in most cases.

Went shopping in the Green Man Gaming and Steam sales with a 100 quid budget. Bought-

Horizen Zero Dawn Complete
Deathloop
Resi Village
Monster Hunter World
Elden Ring
Ride 4
Disco Elysium
Titanfall 2

Went 0.49 quids over budget but I'm set for the next 12 months.
Still have an AC vikings expansion to do and a couple of hours of FH5 a week (fear my mighty Tesco van).
