What are the 30 year old plus gamers playing?

I've never played the HL2 expansions so I started a Hl2 playthrough yesterday. I have just go to the lighthouse bit where you go along the cliff path. Forgot how annoying those black head crabs are that get thrown 1000 metres at you.

Alternating between resi evil 4 remake and the last of us !!

Was playing Final Fantasy Crisis Core Reunion, but put that on hold while playing Resident Evil 4 Remake.

I play Undisputed on the side. It maybe in early access, but put more hours into that most other fighting games surprisingly :)

I have an unhealthy addiction to Fall Guys, which is very sad at the age of 42. I can't put it down when everything else is quiet and I get the time for some quality griefing.

Trying to get back into Flight Sim as I invested in it with hardware and the game itself, but CBF to load it up most of the time.

I am playing a game called Rounds with my 8 year old son. Local coop and it's brilliant fun.

Just reinstalled Days Gone and Res Evil 2 remake. I know I am not a fan of some technical issues with RE2, but I never finished the game so am doing a new restart with a focus on ammo conservation.

I also ended up finding the repetition of find x, bring x to y and do z boring in Days Gone, but again never finished it and am 39.5 hours in, so may as well finish it.Still looks like a fantastic game too.

The funny thing is having just finished Last of Us this week, and Res Evil 4 last week, the control buttons are taking time to get re-adjusted to as each game is different. A universal default control scheme would be really handy with say third person games like these.

Demo version of Arthurian Legends.

I don't know if this is even fully completed yet, but there seems to be quite a good game here,
maybe it just needs a bit more polish. Quite addictive and relatively easy to simply 'pick up and play'.

It reminds me a little of Witchaven - not that I've actually played it, but I have seen several videos about the game on YT.

Available on Steam.

very old one but found myself hooked on the Bards tale ARPG (the ps2 era 3rd person slasher not the retro trilogy remaster)

currently over 2/3 of the way through it and fully expecting it to be only the 2nd game in my steam library to 100%

other than that still playing minecraft dungeons and Fortnite with my 7 year old (and bizarrely as not generally good at PvP games, my lad and i seem to be doing really well at fortnite, usually getting into the top 10 final teams and we win about 1 out of 5 matches - from a starting pot of 50 teams of 2 people. (i keep getting shouted at by him for being too competitive, whilst also being shouted at for being rubbish when we lose :D )

It's probably bots, right?

I've played with my nephew a fair bit, and it's definitely bots everytime we win.

ahhh ok. i genuinely didnt know the game was laced with bots. i thought all those people dancing around when waiting were humans who would be in our game and that was why there was up to a 2 min wait between matches.

that will explain it however... consider my chips well and truly p....d on then :D

Sorry! I didn't know to start with either!

It's a mix of bots and real players. You only play with exclusively bots for the first 2 or 3 games on a new account when you start out playing but after that it's a mix!

Fortnite also has crossplay across all devices - so you could be on PlayStation playing against someone on Switch or PC or even playing on an iPad... You can usually tell after you get killed as it'll show you their platform in the corner on the right hand side.

I play Fortnite with a mate and his dad (who's in his 60s and for some reason loves the game) and we play on a proper mix of devices. Me on PS5 or PC, my mate plays on his daughters Nintendo Switch, his dad plays on an Xbox Series X - and we have some good games and some rubbish games! Sometimes it feels like we're against bots and get a few wins and top 5s, other games we all die in 20 seconds..!

indeed... i play on PC sitting next to my lad playing on his switch in handheld mode. (i play with a pad however so no KB/M advantage.

TBH i do not care either way, mechanically it is a very good game and for free its super value, and a great "my 1st FPSer" to play with my lad. i wont tell him some are bots however as he is dead chuffed how well we do.

(also minecraft dungeons is a brilliant "my 1st diablo clone" as well if anyone else here is looking for a game to play with their kid with, which is not inappropriate but at the same time actually fun to play.

(I realise appropriate is a woolly term and chances are i push what i should let my boy play (when supervised) a bit more than others would)
