Muppets Christmas carol for me, but I'm surprised nobody has questioned if die hard is Christmas film or not :D
I thought the same but a lot of people think its a charismas movies, so IMO its a charismas movie but is Lethal weapon also a charismas movie then ?

Trading Places, as the best christmas movie bar none, should be on the list.
One of my favourites but I was not sure if it was a charismas movie.

What is more Christmassy than Dan Ackroyd dressed as Santa eating a huge slab of smoked salmon through his fake Santa beard? :) It is certainly more of a Christmassy film than Die Hard and Home Alone put together.

What's not Christmassy about a man flying home to see his family for Christmas? Sure some terrorists interfere in his plans, but that's not Detective McClane's fault now is it!

If it was meant to be a Christmas film it would've been released around Christmas, it was released in July.

Fake Christmas film that's deprived us all of Santa Claus the Movie on the list :(

Guess you have to be of a certain age to vote up Charlie Brown at Christmas. One of those that was always on in my younger years, same with the Black Hole that i weirdly always associate with the time of year.

Inspired by the post I just made in the "What movie did you watch last night" topic, it's clear that you're missing a MAJOR Xmas movie off your poll!

Presenting the straight to video National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure!

I demand that this absolutely risible but still enjoyable Xmas movie sequel be added to the poll!

I grant you Hans Gruber did admittedly utter the words "Ho Ho Ho!", albeit he was reading out what John McClane had written down, so on reflection, it is probably the most Christmassy film on the list. :) Until, Trading Places is added of course.

Just dropping in to point out that movies that happened to be set near Christmas aren't Christmas movies. *cough* die hard *cough*

The "Ho Ho Ho, now I have a machine gun" scene arguably qualifies Die Hard as a Christmas movie, I mean the guy's in a Father Christmas hat. In a scene with a giant Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve. With sleigh bells added to the soundtrack at that moment.

I'm not sure what else it would have to do to qualify, I just watched the scene it I think it qualifies.

Die Hard has Santas, Christmas songs, Christmas jokes, a tear in the eye ending, its the perfect Christmas Movie. If it was set in the summer it just wouldnt be the same movie. 100% a feel good christmas movie.

I think it's fair to not consider Die Hard a top tier Christmas story movie perhaps like one with Christmas in the title for example, so I still can appreciate other opinions on the matter.

But as John MClane might say "If it ain't a Christmas movie then it's pretty ******' festive!"

I'd say Christmas is an interval part of the plot, without it how else would the terrorists have got loads of hostages. Iirc isn't the 2nd one set at Christmas too?
