yeah - i played it to some mates today and they all started going on about chocolate cake over the top lol
i dont actually have the album - allough i may have to pick it up 1 day, great to listen to in the summer sun

I decided to finally sit down and learn 'Master of Puppets' a few days ago. The verse riff is such a beast (The first slide part in the second bar). Slowed it down to get better, but got used to it so it sounded silly at normal speed as if it had been sped up.
Struggling to play the 'main riff' (Assending decending evil thing) as cleanly as its recorded, any ideas for tone settings and gain levels / distortion types?

and it will hurt like hell after about 3 minutes of playing it all downpicked... but you just gotta keep going!

It's easy enough to play, drop-D tuning and fairly straightforward apart from some of Slash's phrasing in the solo

Ah good old Puppets, the first proper song I tryed to learn.
The hardest thing about that part is getting the speed and accuracy.

On the drums I'm just nailing Transatlantic's "Suite Charlotte Pike" on the Live in Europe album - they play a Beatles medley

That is the bit thats really hard to make all of the notes pop out, but it is possible. Downpicking is being used you will be pleased to know. The hardest bit by far is the slide bit at the end of this:riddlermarc said:
