What are YOUR OCD-Style habits!

Everything has to be symmetrical on tables or desks and exactly aligned, but thats about it.

Same. That and the volume on the tv/amp etc need to be in multiples of 5. Also my wallet has to be in my left pocket, and my keys and phone have to be in my right pocket, although I suppose that more down to what im used to.

What a bunch of weirdo's.

I too use a bit of bog paper or towel to open up the doors in a toilet but thats not OCD - thats because theres proabably about 1000 different poo's on the handle.
Same reason why I won't eat nuts out of a bowl at a party or in a pub.

You know, the amount of blokes I see that don't wash their hands on a night out is quite shocking. I only noticed this because I'm the only sod that ever seems to bother washing my hands if I've just used the toilet.

Ladies beware!

Yep, and not just on nights out, I ALWAYS see it at work, or anywhere really, im fed up of being called obsessive for not touching the handle, I mean, seriously, if they do not wash their hands and walk out of a toilet, you might as well not bother washing yours if you touch the handle, thats my theory!

It's actually more important to make sure your hands are dried thoroughly than actually washing them. Loads of people will wash and then leave the hands damp. It's even worse if you use a hot air hand drier for a few seconds leaving warm, wet conditions perfect for bacteria growth.

As for OCD type obsessions, I have to have my My Documents folders and files named and arranged perfectly.

Blimey, I never knew that :|

I pretty much always wash my hands, then walk out without drying them, (when someone opens the door so I dont have to lol) just shaking them dry.

i can also relate to that, everything is like that, but what i take most pride in is my FTP, its on my 200gig drive, and its arranged PERFECTLY, its all my application installers, movies, music and what not, all named, folders, everything PERFECTLY. i was at a lan not so long ago and mates had so much joy it c*cking it up and watching me go spare trying to fix it again :(

Everything needs to be straight/Neat!...

Kife and fork - perfectly perpendicular to the table edge and level with each other.
Condements/Glasses etc... - on a table straight and in decending height order.
Books/Videos/CDs/DVDs - Alligned (none sticking out), unless necessary, then in assending height order, Sorted by Author/Genre/Studio/Series (Films and TV).
Computer Desktop (Home PC/Laptop/linux box, Work, etc...) and all start menus sorted into groups and tidy/minamalist!... even so far as to telling my self off for doing it to other peoples PCs..
Wiring for Home cinema/Computers etc... All Cable Tidied and routed neatly between devices!.

:)

- volume on stereo, tv, anything like that has to be on an odd number (car stereo only has even numbers and it makes me feel ill just thinking about it)

What would you do? WHAT WOULD YOU DO? :p

I'm pretty bad for OCD habbits too though. I tend to avoid public bathrooms (even at college, probably only used them 6 times over 2 years, how do you like that kidneys  ). I love the IR taps, they should have them in every bathroom, but extend it to IR soap dispenser and automatic doors of some kind (possibly with gender detection...). Not sure of the best hand drying method...

I also arrange things on tables at right angles etc :o

OK, In a list, whats your OCD-Style habits;

Some of mine;

Washing hands...
*Whenever I go outside, even if it is to the garage or to get something out of the car.
*Whenever I touch money
*Using a baby wipe to wipe over my phone every day after work.
*Washing my hands after touching a DVD thats been rented (I do it because of not knowing who has touched it before etc etc!)
*Washing my hands after touching the mail/opening parcels etc
*Using a baby wipe over my hands if I've used a trolley or basket in a supermarket.
*Make people wash their hands before they use anything in my room if they have been outside.
*Using the gloves at a petrol station.
*Never touch toilet doors, always use a tissue over the handle.
*Always checking the taps are off after clearly turning them off.
*Always press the lock key of my car a few times.

Strange hey... I know I know! :p
i thought i was bad lol, o/j
umm i wash my hands after touching bins, if i touch something i consider to be dirty its like i can feel it on my hand and i will stay there until i wash it off lmao but thats it

I'm OCD but it's not that bad, it's nothing major like having to wash my hands all the time which takes a great deal of time and could impact my day to day life, it's just little things. I told my mates of 8 years about my OCD a few months back and they were like really? had no idea so it's not noticable. A few things that get me are as posted before, even numbers, car stereo for example, gotta be even numbers or a multiple of 5. Everything has gotta be parallel and not at an angle on my desk, monitor, keyboard all gotta be completely parallel, books at college on desk, completely parallel and arranged in order of size. Everytime I drive my car, I have a set routine, firstly lock the drivers door from the inside, then wind down the window exactly two notches, if I don't do either I can drive but it will be constantly nagging on my mind and I think something bad will happen so I eventually give in and do it. :)

  • Volume of the car stero must be on even numbers
  • Loose change in my hand must be organised into size order
  • Cans must be organised labels front
  • Toilet paper must hang over the front of the roll, not behind
  • Bare minimum desktop icons, start menu and my documents neatly organised into relevant folders
  • Things need to be straight or perpendicular on my work bench
  • All tools should be arranged, clean and tidy
  • Things on my workbench should be at an absolute minimum
  • Always carry a hankerchief
  • Stacked items should be alligned the same and in size order (e.g books)

There are more...

Pff, easy. The analogue dial should be turned to where numbers would appear on an imaginary clock face.

I'm not really OCD about anything except volume controls; I'm not crazy.

I've always been a pocket tapper myself.

Routinely check phone, wallet, keys, etc like every 10 minutes. Just tap my pockets so I feel that they are there.

Also recentley I've started looking round my room multiple times to make sure all my pictures and posters are in line. Dunno what the relevance of that one is lol.

Ditto and also checking the football gossip religiously every morning.

* Every Volume control has to be even number.

* Can't watch sky without pressing "Back Up" to get rid of the Red Button.

* Check the door is locked 3 or 4 times.

* Perpindicular items on my desk. (Probably my biggest one actually, even mouse, kayboard and monitor must be perpindicular to each other aswell as xbox with dvd player, all dvd's etc etc.)

Not too bad i guess, but pretty bad.

I use to have to wash my hands all the time, started when we first got a dog. I just didn't like the smell of dog on my hands when I went to eat something so I had to wash them.
It's really bad for your hands though, makes them go red raw so try to control it you lot. I still do it a bit, but nowhere near as often.

We all have a bit of OCD. I'm a bit nutty when it comes to the washing up. I don't like to water marks on glasses or cutlery, so I'll either make sure it's dried properly or just stick it in the dishwasher.

But apparantly i'm nutty with the dishwasher as well as I take time to put stuff in the right place instead of just chucking it in. E.g. Putting the cuttlery where it won't fall through.

Glad I'm not the only nutcase though. :D

If you call keeping PC stable and clean and having my iTunes perfect than yes, I have iTunes + Windows OCD. My iTunes has to be perfect (All high-res, high quality album art, all high quality and same format, all ripped from CD, all lyrics etc) :p

what the hell is the matter with all you volume control freaks. Set the damn thing as loud as you want it and to hell with the stupid number it DOESNT MATTER
