What basic necessity are missing from your car!

fuel - well might just have half litre left if lucky
a bit of rubber - out of a pipe which lets the rad water out
window screen resv - misses filled it with water :(

None of the Nissans I ever owned had heated mirrors or cruise control.

My current primera has anti hijack locks and two step locking (one press opens only drivers doors, two presses open all doors) but no button to unlock the rest of the doors from inside, which means that if only driver door is open or anti-hijack kicked in (someone grabbed door handle too early) then every time someone wants to seat in the back you have to either remove key from the ignition, leave the car, lock it and then fully unlock it with two presses of keyfob, or unbelt, climb over to the back and flick unlock paddle on the door.

None of the new Focus models I drove had clutch foot rest.

Or ashtrays. I don't actually smoke, but it means all wrappers and old motorway service receipts ended up everywhere on the floor or in door cards.

None of the new 4x4's I sat in or drove had inclinometers which most of the old Pajeros and Hiluxes have to potentially avoid tipping over. Clearly urban warrior cars.

Mitsubishi Colt courtesy car had space saver spare, but if you actually had to change the wheel one of the passengers would have to carry the puntured tyre on their lap as it wouldn't fit in the back anymore.

Rear wiper.

Can be fitted with one from an imported car but its quite a laplava to fit it.

I hear that.

Once made a bit of a daft overtake on my mate when we were coming home from somewhere, couldn't work out why he was flashing me, then I notice the police car behind him :o

Curse not being able to see in the rain.

Have since found that loads of Rain-X helps, but its still not great.

RWD and a couple of extra hundred horses would be nice :D

Except for the stag and GT, which just need the horses :D

really would like

a trip computer / mpg readout
cruise control
heated front windscreen
bigger fuel tank (or better mpg!)

(leon cupra)

I miss a seat massager, my ole' chops don't half niggle after a long run, I end up leaning on one cheek the whole journey.

Don't say you'se never had that too ;)

First two are surely retro fittable. Cruise can be taken from the toledo, and facelift cupra's and all LCR's had trip/mpg computer.

Heated screen can't be done, but better MPG is down to your right foot ;)

I can get over 37mpg on a motorway run if I really want to (maintaining 75mph).

For me I think from the long list that I could put it would have to be :-

Electric Windows,
Air Conditioning,
Cup holder that actually holds cups ( there is one in the glove box door but every cup I have tryed it wont hold, grrrr)
CD player would be nice, with all speakers working (some have blown)

Think those are the main ones:)

I was offered a complete rear window and wiper arm/motor from a written off RA. I would have bought it (£100) but I wasn't sure if it would fit (thinner glass on RAs IIRC) and I had to hand over the money and then try to get it out. Basically if I smashed it getting it out its my £100 down the pan.

My 1979 Mk1 Fiesta never had a servo.

The Supra:

It has Cruise/AC/CL/EW/ABS/PAS..... but then in 1989 it was quite an expensive car.
It could do with an extra 200bhp I suppose.

The Civic:

It has CL/EW/ABS/PAS....
It could do with VTEC.

The 205 GTI:

It has er....nothing. No electric anything, no sunroof, no PAS, no ABS. And it doesn't need any of them.
It could do with an extra 50bhp.
