Sex on the Moon by Ben Mezrich
Book Description
Ocean’s Eleven meets A Beautiful Mind…Sex on The Moon is the amazing true story of the 25-year-old genius who pulled off one of the most unique and significant heists in US history
Product Description
Thad Roberts, a fellow in a prestigious NASA programme had an idea – a romantic, albeit crazy, idea. He wanted to give his girlfriend the moon. Literally.

Thad convinced his girlfriend and another female accomplice, both NASA interns, to break into an impenetrable laboratory at NASA’s headquarters – past security checkpoints, and electronically locked door with cipher security codes and camera-lined hallways – and help him steal the most precious objects in the world: Apollo moon rocks from every moon landing in history.

Was Thad Roberts – undeniably gifted, picked for one of the most competitive scientific posts imaginable – really what he seemed?

And what does one do with an item so valuable that it’s illegal even to own?

Based on meticulous research into thousands of pages of court records, FBI transcripts and documents, and scores of interviews with the people involved, Mezrich – with his signature high-velocity swagger – has reconstructed the madcap story of genius, love, and duplicity all centred on a heist that reads like a Hollywood thrill ride.

Never heard of this heist before, hopefully it will be a good read.

Just started reading 'The Defence of the Realm, the Authorised history of MI5', probably loads of stuff missing but it's well written and pretty interesting so far.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

about half way through, its cleverly written but the main character I have just realised is a complete buffoon. it was sort of endearing to begin with but I expected him to develop with the book but he is still completely retarded.

will finish the book but god he is such a tool.

The first one is probably the best, i found them all quite good and worth reading but the second and third one's are quite drawn out and not much really happens for the length of them. When stuff does happen it comes into its own though. It's been a while but i think he does develop quite a bit, especially in the second one (considering that's basically following him as he goes through elf education :p ).

When does Inheritance come out anyway?

No No No!

It's brilliant reading the second one and seeing how the places and people are connected.

Slap yourself :p

i have also read pillars, just waiting to pick up the next one

Howard Marks - Mr Nice

its quite an eye opener, esp. that mad irishman in shannon ;)

Working my way through Bernard Cornwell's 'Sharpe' books.
Currently on Sharpe's Trafalgar, only the fourth book, so he's just a lowly Ensign.
Brilliant series.

i want to read this series, but i can never seem to 'find' the first one in the series,
i ususally buy books used.

just starting Papillon, hopefully it should be good.

Just polished off

A Clockwork Orange- Perfect book. A true classic with a really profound message.
Animal Farm - Wow! Really interesting and great critique on society.
The Dark River - John Twelve Hawks. Second in a random, but fun, series. Certainly not high brow it's what i'd class as a "holiday" book, east reading and enjoyable.

Now onto Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. Heard good things about this.

Does the first one have a satisfying conclusion?

It hasn't made me want to get the next book.

Star Wars X-Wing: Isard's Revenge

Still slowly working my way through the books in chronological order, just finished the Thrawn Trilogy before this one, which i was kind of dissapointed in tbh. I've found the X-Wing novels to be pretty consistent though, three chapters in and I'm enjoying it so far.

Just finished "Beatrice and Virgil" by Yann Martell. Odd, short, good. Now about halfway through "Wolf Hall" by Hilary Mantell. Hard to keep track of sometimes, but worth the effort: it's as good as people say it is. Mind you, I now keep wanting to dash off and read non-fiction books about Thomas Cromwell.

Yet another one reading George R. R, Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire saga, for the rather backwards reason of hearing that the HBO tv series was rather good (didn't see it) - so the novel(s) it was based on had to be good.

I've read ...Thrones and ...Kings and am halfway through ...Swords.

Didn't realise he was still writing them - 5 down with two to go, apparently.

Just finished Dark Fire and now on Sovereign, part of the Shardlake series by C. J. Sansom. Love the series so far :)

Currently re-reading Temeraire by Naomi Novik. Wonderful alternative fiction set in the Napoleonic War, but with an air force consisting of Dragons.
