what bought you to the ocuk website?

A

I bought some parts from the online store, then came online for some overclocking tips when ever it was, something like 1998/99 I can never remember.

I remember being here on the run up to the turn of the millennium.

I'm certain that the original owner of Overclockers/Millennium had no faith in the Internet side of things.
He liked his old values of having his wife, Mum & Dad working behind the counter and having one on one with customers.
Spie had the idea of the internet selling and Pete just let him get on with it never realising the potential.
Spie has told his story on here but I don't know how he got started in the shop, whether he was a Saturday boy or taken on to build PC's, he just seemed to be there one day.

I got a P166MMX from Evesham Micro (!) back in 1996. I failed to install the motherboard correctly and it cost me some money to get them to install it. I vowed that I would never let that happen and so I studies the various websites at that time and OCUK stood out. I admit I have only bought a couple of things from the shop itself (The majority from competitors or from MM) but the Thunderbird 1400 I bought from them allowed me to get 2100 on air which was an astounding overclock. I no longer overclock but when I did it was a heck of a lot of fun!

It was definitely the forums that I discovered first - the shop was always secondary compared to the forums (But I am an old codger ;)) - MYB, 2Blue, Piggymon. - that was my era.

My mate from my area told me about his site when he built a mate's computer. I registered after building my own to check about a product i fancy.

First started buying the occasional thing here that I couldn't get elsewhere back in 2007. Then in 2009 I got fed up with the competitor I had been using since 2003 sending everything by Citylink (the worst courier imaginable if you live in North or Northeast Wales) so decided to start shopping here full time.
