what bought you to the ocuk website?

Was a lurker for a long time as the company I work for released a new firmware update and I was keeping an eye on how it went down with people.

Have been lurking/posting since :)

Had known about the place for years, bought my 2004 rig from OCUK and reg'd on the forum as 3 of the parts supplied were faulty (Tagan PSU, 1 GEiL DIMM and an ATI 9800 Pro) to troubleshoot.

Gave OCUK a wide berth for my 2007 build but bit the bullet and let 5UB sort my 2012 system (which did have problems, totally unstable OC on the build and a faulty AMD 6970 GPU).

Love the forum though and decent RMA system

I *think* I stumbled upon a forum thread when trying to overclock a Pentium 4 Northwood. I didn't actually order anything from here until the motherboard in my sig rig though. Now I would never buy anywhere else.

Bought stuff from the shop, ooo a forum. *clicked*. hmm. blue. wow this is a popular place. register. cannot register hotmail address.

FFS!

*years pass*

hmm lets try this again. register. yay it accepted my email.

I knew the original owner and would be in the shop 3 times a week.
One day I asked him something and he said I might get a better answer off the forums that Mark had setup.

I hate rubbish grammar - It should read "What BROUGHT you to the ocuk website"

Anyway, to answer the question, I popped into OCUK to buy an Abit IC7-Max 3 motherboard, plus a specific power supply for my vapochill unit. My brother had used OCUK before, and when I walked into the little unit that they had, I was immediately captivated - I'd been buying stuff from ebay and from ****, and fairs up to that point - this was the first retailer I'd ever seen.

I found the web site, and lurked around for several years before I appreciated what they were dealing in - the vapochill unit lasted me years, so I didn't look to upgrade until I got an Athlon X2 system, and OCUK weren't that competitive for components vs certain other sites I'd come to rely on. When I bought the C2Duo setup and started overclocking again, I remembered OCUK and so began my obsession with overclocking. I'd no idea there was even a forum behind the site, and so finding that was a happy accident one day. I've been lurking until recently when Bit-tech started to mess around with their owners - which pushed me over toward OCUK.

I've found the community over here a really great bunch of people, and now it's my hideout of choice.

I had built a system and couldn't work out why it was randomly restarting and shutting down. Turned out to be the Q-Tec PSU (what a surprise...) and that was me hooked.
