What car did you learn to drive in?

Had a nice new Audi A3 Diesel which was good to learn the basics in (stop-start engine, weird electric handbrake, pulled off very easily). Got fed up with my instructor so changed to a new one. He had a ford escort which I absolutely hated (kept stalling it). Was pleasantly surprised when he changed to a Toyota Auris, which is the car I passed in!

Focus Mk2 1.6 Petrol for me, meant I actually learnt a bit of clutch control rather than everyone who seems to learn in an unstallable diesel these days and then have a breakdown the first time they encounter a petrol and keep stalling it.

Car I learned in with dad and was my first car 1989 Vauxhall Astra Belmont Sri 1.8

Instructors car was a Fiesta Diesel.

Learnt to drive in a 1.2 Fezza and it was that slow it bored me to tears so I told myself when I pass the smallest engine i will have in my first car is a 1.6 which I paid 1.7k insurance for. It was worth it felt like a rocket compared to the 1.2 I learnt in.

A ka and a diesel clio. The ka was my sister's... the lemon yellow millenium edition, and had a foam daisy attached to the antenna :D

One of the guys at my first job taught me the basics in a Morris FG lorry (on private land). Getting the hang of the double clutching was a pain. I then went with a proper driving school and had two lessons and passed my test first time in their Peugot 105tdi. This was back in 1984.

Instructor had a mk2 Clio 1.5dci, did all my practicing out of lessons in dads VW T4 lwb van... bit of a contrast!

Landrover Defender 90 TDI, then took my test in a 1L petrol Micra - Not exactly the easiest transition for a 1st time driver :D

First car I drove alone was a 1974 Rover P6 3500S
I had my first lesson in a 1986 Nissan Sunny. Passed in that car too.
