What car did you learn to drive in?

I learned to drive in a Vauxhall Corsa, one week before my test the car was took in after someone crashed it  my instructors replacement was a Clio, had three hours in and passed.

My own little 1.4 Clio RT with a dodgy clutch and a 1.2 Micra.

Both as bad as they sound but they did the job, after that I "upgraded" to a Pug 106 1.1 that wasn't too bad. Been a Pug fan ever since. Except my brief and expensive spell in a Saphire Cossie.

I started learning in a 1 litre Vauxhall Corsa, and then my instructor left BSM so it got changed for a Ford KA. I also did a bit in my Mum's VW Polo.

More recently I've had driving lessons in a Scania 94.

Gen 1 Renault Megane diesel and a Citroen C3. Phwoar!!

Also practised in parents' E39 525d and a C180K Sports Coupe so not all that bad..

MK2 corsa pre-facelift where the steering I swear got more sensitive the faster you went!!
Switched instructors with a mk5 (I think, one before they changed the styling to something it looks like now) fiesta which was good....
Then he also got the aforementioned Corsa :-/
Doubly fun changing gear when you're left-handed!!

First ever driving lesson was with my dad in an e46 325....mental case haha

Then I had lessons in a Toyota yaris with an instructor, and lessons outwith the instructor in an 01 mini cooper(my mums)

Numerous Austin 7's and Austin big 10 - I was about 14 at time and my Dad was a school caretaker - He used to buy them from Medway Spares at Bordesley Green for a fiver and change plugs and sell them for 15 quid - So we had big playground to play in.

My first on road tuition was in a Morris Minor van

That is why I hate Morris minors.

First car I got behind the wheel of was a Golf GTI, albeit a MK3 and on private land.

Got my provisional license and started off driving a Mazda 323F with the pop-up headlights. Drove this with my dad, it had surprisingly decent handling for what was basic spec model.

Started taking proper lessons and had to drive a near 200,000 mile Citroen C2 diesel in those.

Stopped having lessons for some reason, but carried on going driving with my dad and he'd just got rid of the Mazda for a Alfa Romeo MiTo at this point.

Had my mind set on a Peugeot 306 HDI Dturbo as a first car. One came up on eBay just outside Leicester early one Saturday morning so we went up and bought it. So I swapped to driving that around instead of the Alfa with my dad. Carried on driving the car for three years after passing my test, now my dad drives it.

Started taking lessons again by which point my instructor had changed cars to a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDI which seemed to go everywhere in any gear despite being a bit poor in every other way.

I probably had over 50 hours just driving around with my dad just because he didn't want to drive anywhere :p
