What classic games would you like to see remastered?

quite a few of the games here were great for the time, but awful by modern standards. And uplifting them to include modern features (like sprinting etc) would remove it too far from where it came from.

However with that in mind, I’d still love a remake of the original top-down Syndicate games. I always loved the art style of that game, and making a mob of civilians follow you around :p

This was one of those "spiritual successors" of Syndicate......

This was one of those "spiritual successors" of Syndicate......

It was as really subpar though, all be it not a terrible game in its own right.

There is only one "team" to play
You cannot seem to drive cars/or blow them up
Infact in Syndicate Wars lots of stuff was destructable, in SR basically nothing is
No flying cars
No huge tanks that shoot missiles at you or those huge spider tank things (infact there are spider tanks in Satellite Reign but they are patetic)
Lack of explosive stuff in general
You cannot pick up/drop weapons (this is retarded)
No trains

The level design is also less creative, basically evert part of the game is the same in SR. The gameplay throughout is just very samey. Basically you go to various sectors of this one big city which all look the same, break into certain locations to gain stuff and thats pretty much all you do. There are very few missions that take place in the public areas, and the few that are will be to pick up a package or kill someone, they are straightfoward. No ambushing you, or surprising you like the old games did.

They have added a stealth system in, so when you enter locations you can disable security cameras etc, and sneak around, however it is clunky, to the point where jsut walking in and shooting is better. They have set it up so you can go through the vents or side passages or whatever, but there is little point when its easier jsut to walk in the front door shooting, and when did a Syndicate game become about stealth anyway??? The combat is slow compared to the old games. There are no also enemy agents, only police and security, which do differ in strength, however even the elite bad guys are no real threat and the only real threat is when you become outnumbered.

The tech tree is also messed up. The way the game works there doesnt appear to be any major order in which you gain tech, or for my playthrough, I ended up getting the second best weapon about a quater of the way through the game which means I only ever ended up using about 4 weapons in total. As you can easily jump ahead, most of the weapons/gear/augmentations effectively become redundant even before you get them, which is a shame.

Vampire the Masquerade - apparently work in progress but all gone sadly quiet.

Yeah. Was meant to release a year ago. Shame as it is the type of game I would enjoy. I did get a refund my pre-order as the trailer looked poor. Hopefully they do get it sorted out.

Here is the trailer:

Wtf is that dancing crap about? Hope they cut all that rubbish out.

Combat Flight Simulator 3.

Current MSFS engine (with the ability to simplify the switch flipping and even easy up the flight dynamics) and a good reactive campaign and I'd be a very happy person.

Xenogears
Final Fantasy IX
Knights of the Old Republic (I know a remake has been announced, but I've got a bad feeling about it tbh :( )

A Xenogears remaster will never happen, it's very existence just seems cursed, like SquareEnix's unwanted child that they hope the world forgets about. Despite this, it is one of the most expressive, mind bogglingly conflated, incredibly bonkers JRPGs ever created. And I love it. There's not a book or movie that comes close to the scale of it's story, or the variety of themes it deals with. I would pay a fortune to have it properly remade in a faithful way. Not a "reimagining", but a proper, faithful retelling of its crazy story in a modern game engine. It had a big impact on me when I played it as a teenager, and I just randomly think about it every so often.

Found a couple of old PC games I wouldn't mind getting a remaster :)

Freelancer
Descent 2: Freespace
Legacy of Kain Series
System Shock (I know it's being done but it looks like it may end up a car crash)
Asherons Call (just modern graphics and an updated UI, keep the gameplay)

That would keep me going for a bit!

Going console here but G-Police and Colony Wars from the PS1.

G-Police but with the city domes the the size and detail of something like GTA V or Watch Dogs 2. Yes please!

Colony Wars. There doesn't seem to be many 'good old fashioned' space dogfighting games these days. The gameplay from what I recall was really solid. Maybe just make the campaign more dynamic so it felt like you are part of a real and greater conflict.
I second G police, what a game!

Would love any form of remake or remaster of the following;

Future Cop LAPD
SOCOM - US Navy Seals (the original)
Dead Ball Zone

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. I know it got a sequel but it was a bit too over the top for my liking. Could obviously benefit from some modern graphics, maybe throw in some co-op for a bit of fun.
