What could be done to stop bots for the 50 series launch?

Looks like we will soon see what, (if any) measures OCUK has in place to combat bots this time around.

I imagine it would be a detriment to reveal them with a few weeks left to go. :)

ChatGPT could make passing that joke captcha very quick

I vaguely remember them doing something in the past like putting a card up for £20,000 and then posting a discount code on the forum that you enter at checkout that brings the price down to the actual one. That would be nice.
Hahah. Really? That’s mad

That as to have been Covid now everything is fair game, and every company is fighting for profit

OCUK seem to be against long ques (see the recent 9800x3d launch) and they are going to sell out either way. Strategically it makes sense to encourage/reward repeat customers over bots/users who will only make a GPU purchase here and then be gone until the next launch. IMO anyways :)

Yout right, why would OCUK want someone who just wants to buy 10k worth of GPU's. there better of with the guy that upgrades one ever 7 years

It's because people scramble for the cards at any price. People who didn't even want one, feel obligated to buy one if they get one in their basket due to the scramble.

Ebay also has also got rid of 10% seller fees for non-business sellers. That also makes it more profitable now to scalp. At worst you can sell it for rrp + delivery.

I think its going to be a bloodbath, I wouldn't bother trying to get the GPU's at all at launch unless you desperately need it

That wont be a problem for the 5000 series, Nvidia are going to pre-scalp them for us. Then apply Asus Tax, then apply Retail Tax.

Haribo is about to be replaced with KY this launch.

That's true enough. Especially since the 4090 sold so well.
We have shown NVIDIA that we are prepared to pay. That's one type of feedback that companies always listen to.

we are a minority in all this, casuals with money will keep paying the high prices which means nvidia has no reason to make the prices lower if they are selling just as fast
