What country would you move to, if you had the opportunity?

We can all see what's happening in UK/EU, looking at historical events and doing a bit of thinking, it safe to say it'll only get worse from here onwards... Lets say nothing is keeping you in the UK, you've some cash saved up and have the opportunity to work remotely. What country do you pick and why?

For those of us without your clarity of foresight could you just give a brief resume of where you see the UK / EU going? If I had a handle on what's going to befall me if I stay in England it would make it easier to make a balanced choice of saying where I might consider moving to. Thanks.

Not sure as i love Cornwall, somewhere warm but not hot, good surf , excess off single women, not overpopulated, no mammals that feast on humans or insects or snakes that can kill, liberal cannabis laws, lots of land for not much money any suggestions welcome

Sounds like Cornwall is your nirvana, stick it out, got any photos? ;)

I've always liked the look of Italy, never been but maybe get round to it one day, probably Tuscany, looks stunning.

I had previously thought about NZ, but apparently quite dull landscape wise and they don't know how to build houses. Aus, nope nope nope, not with all those spiders.

I do like the uk though, like the seasons and the history, tbh if I could buy a house in the middle of nowhere id probably be as happy as I would anywhere.

New Zealand or Oz. Weather, beauty, quality of life and a culture of "just get 'er done mate".

I'd choose NZ over Oz. Oz whilst nice enough reminds me of a USA MK2. I loathe the USA, other than visiting it and some of the experiences there were great as were the people, I just despise the laws, lack of culture and the cottage industries they have there for every element of life.

I like NZ because of the integration they have in the culture. It's culture rich despite it being so isolated. However that's a reason that puts me off. The sheer distance.

Personally I'd like to return to the Med. It's home, it's warm, life is simple and the food is great, the people are relaxed and a lot of amazing countries are within a few hours of each other.

Finland does look great but it's just too cold and alien for me.

Just managed to get my Finnish Citizenship. Born in England to an English Dad and Finnish Mum. Taken a few years to do and never felt the need before until Brexit. Luckily I got baptized in Finland and so got a social security number. but had to jump through a lot of hoops. Only really did it for my son, so he can have an EU passport. He is up for national service as well. :)

It's slowly drifting further right socially and economically from mainland Europe and leaning more towards a capitalist first culture similar to the US but without the benefits that come with being one of or the largest market on the planet.

So if UK starts to become US lite might as well move across the pond for the full fat version and at least get paid well and have a higher standard of living in general
