What country would you move to, if you had the opportunity?

In my heart the Phillipines, spent some time working there and would love to go back, but the more logical choice would be somewhere like Norway, Finland or Iceland. Happy countries, great history, good culture but bloody cold and difficult languages. I'd say Italy, and would love a Villa on the Amalfi Coast, but I'd be about 40 stone in a year.

I've always liked the look of Italy, never been but maybe get round to it one day, probably Tuscany, looks stunning.

I had previously thought about NZ, but apparently quite dull landscape wise and they don't know how to build houses. Aus, nope nope nope, not with all those spiders.

I do like the uk though, like the seasons and the history, tbh if I could buy a house in the middle of nowhere id probably be as happy as I would anywhere.
Dull landscape...really? Have you been here? But i do agree we build some average houses.

Canaries.
Not a fan of winters here in the North East. Lived in the area long enough too, it's time for a change.
In Lanzarote or Fuerteventura it's easy enough to go swimming in the sea, clear the head, then crack on with whatever project I've got on the go. If a client wants a meeting or site visit I can fly back easy enough.

what would chatGPT say - WWGS ?
Monaco (or near vicinity for non-millionaires): outdoor lifestyle, access to beach/ski, scenery, driving roads. cuisine, culture, airports, health service.....

The UK really isn't all that bad.
I miss the mature and competitive retail market, the low tax, the access to digital services, the lack of red tape/bureaucracy.

I can't think of a particular country, though I do like what I've seen/heard about some of the northern European countries like Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

They seem to have their heads screwed on with regard to a number of issues. One of the downsides, however, might be the weather.

The Netherlands is also another option and is closer to home.

Canada. Friends and colleagues from Canada, if I had the chance to emigrate, would seriously consider. For all its faults, still proud to be a Brit.
