What did you do to your bike today?

dsb, I only watched the first minute, it looks like you exited the roundabout still indicating right? Still no justification for the car pulling out on you though...

I did this today.

Nothing you did wrong, just more retarded drivers :D

After my car accident with a drunk driver end of feb and now my bike bike incident I have now got an in car camera/gps/black box thing, first time I took it out I had 2 incidents straight away, one exactly like yours I was taking the third exit, indicating and the oncoming car pulled right in front like yours, second one was a lorry shot straight out of a yard across two lanes of the dual carriageway in front of me and another car.... I really don't know whats going on with driving standards at the moment..
I haven't got to grips with the camera yet though so I managed to overwrite the footage instead of save it, gutted! :D

*Nice to see the BMW garage is finally unflooded!

I seem to have spates of people pulling out in front of me, cutting me up and generally being stupid, then months of absolutely no problems. It seems stupid driver season comes and goes :p

Also, just finished fitting my Scottoiler. Went pretty well, took a couple of hours. One of those installs that didn't go wrong at all, but just took time to do neatly and route the tubes etc. So quite enjoyable :)

Luckily I could just plug straight into the inlet manifold which was nice, no cutting of tubes. Had to buy a whole tube of gasket sealant just for use on the threads of a tiny screw...

Really happy with the install, fits nicely under the seat and routed really well under the swing arm. Almost messed it up and made it so I could no longer use my paddock stand due to the tube, but luckily I can unclip it and slot the stand under when I need to.

Still need to adjust it, it's primed and ready to go. Shame it just started raining :(

Weeeeeeeeeee bit of good news, not heard anything from insurance all week about the bike so just called up, apparently its been given a Cat C so I should be able to buy it back, someone will be calling me monday to discuss it, and initial figure he gave as an estimate would be brilliant :D

Nice one. You gonna track bike it or get it back on the road?

And having a car pull out on you changes your priorities. Such as brakes, horn and most of all reaction, thumb was clearly ready to change as I was on the horn quite quick, also the two junctions are close together so normaly indicate just when I'm coming off.

Meh, rear left indicator broken so now I have a chavvy style fast flashing front left! Must have knocked it today installing the Scottoiler or something. It had let a lot of water in as well so maybe it was just its time.

Found identical indicators on Halfords so gonna pick those up. Another bike job tomorrow. Although I do need food but normally my bike comes before food :p

Is there anything I can put round the edges of the indicators I get tomorrow that will stop water getting in? Don't know if this sounds stupid, but would silicon gasket sealant help? Got a tube yesterday for the Scottoiler so might as well use it... not idea if it'd help though?

Got up at 6am to Install new mirrors with indicators in, new led indicators, they're tiny! 4 for a tenner of flea bay :-) I took a gamble on a seat cowl for a 99 model cbr, sadly doesn't fit my 97 model, fitted anyway. Washed, waxed and now I can now I get to watch the sun go by as I work all day :-( no riding for me.

Needed new relay as I have chavvy uber fast blinking indicators too

Good news mate, how much if you don't mind me asking?

How does it work? you get a payout minus the amount they want for the wreck?

I have no idea to be honest mate, I know that it has to be or has already been registered with the DVLA as CAT C, so when I get it back I have to tax it and MOT it again..... bear in mind I did both of these things a week before the accident!!!

As for payment I have already been paid for the bike so I will have to pay them, but normally yes they would minus the cost from what they pay you.

Oh and the estimate so far was just over a grand but I will know for sure on monday.

Were you happy with what they offered bearing in mind the. K5 is going up in value. My mate has one he may sell if your interested. 30000 miles but great condition and standard bar the screen I think.

They paid me £150 less than what I paid for it two years ago, so I am happy with that.

Is it a yellow/black? :D
If all goes well and I get to buy mine back I wont be needing another though, for now :p

Wow, they make you re-tax as well? That's a bit odd, just because the bike is broken surely doesn't mean they can void tax? MOT, yes, but tax is nothing to do with the safety.

Today, I fitted one new indicator and sealed it with silicon gasket sealant so it hopefully doesn't leak this time! :D

Indeed, re-taxing it seems a bit odd.

I had a look at insurance quotes for a firestorm, (bearing in mind i'm 22 with 5 years ncb)

can get FC for 150, but thats with 500 compulsory and 500 voluntary excesses.

Ill stick it out another year with the hornet.

Reducing excess normally doesn't cost that much so might be worth asking?

I will have to think about that for now, if I get the GSXR back I wont really have any space for another bike... already got the SV650 in the back garden, so maybe fix that up for a commuter bike for now, and just keep collecting cheap fairings over time to get the GSXR back road worthy...

I fit my R&G tail tidy yesterday... Never again. Because it included the undertray etc, had to take the entire rear end apart and use my angled driver etc.
Why is it aftermarket parts like this never quite fit, tooks some serious jiggering about to get it fitted.
Definitely need a new number plate now as i had to hack up my existing one to get it to fit. Also the illuminator is a bit ****. What are the regs of number plate illuminators?

Looks nice now though :)
