What did you do to your bike today?

I use my car more than my bike tbh. Admittedly my commute is the opposite direction to most and I do have to do the occasional work trip with it. Also is great for long trips with the other half, on the motorway it'll sit at 70mpg and then is still fun to drive on country roads in sport mode.
Most 'car days' I regret not taking the bike but when it's icy, peeing it down, freezing cold etc I am thankful I have it.
Wouldn't give it up.

Haha, quite. I don't think I could deal with sitting in queues on my ride to/from work - my 35-40 minute commute would be an hour, easy. Especially with all the roadworks going on at the moment round my work. A bike is cheaper and quicker than the train or car. Not quite as warm as the car but much more fun! And less totty to look at than on the train ;)
My commute is around an hour in the car or 40 mins on the bike (45 with the inevitable kit/security faff). 15 minutes I can handle on a crappy day but when it's sunny and some bell end decides to play smashy smashy I tend to get a bit cheesed off!

You can get a bike that does 3-4 seconds 0-62mph for less than 5k? How much would you have to spend on a equivalent car, but everything is cheaper (especially tax.)

 How!?
I normally fill up when the light starts blinking at 150 miles but there wasn't a petrol station to be found the other day so ended up hitting just under 180 before brimming it although the light hadn't even gone solid so there was still another few miles in it.

Your SV is a K3 isnt it? Mine is a Y reg SY. To be more precise I get about 120 miles before the fuel light comes on.

I suppose it depends on what you want from your bike, for me it's a commuting tool first and forthmost. I'd like it to stay mint but I'm not going to avoid using something just because it'll get dirty with salt and crud. I'd expect any bike to be able to cope with that with minimal fuss. Yes the odd bolt and whatnot will rust so it will no longer be "mint". My Indian built CBF125 managed the past two winters with no washing whatsoever. I'll see how my Kawk does - I will be doing an allyearbiker treatment, I didn't both on the CBF.

My bike's 10years old now and only cost £2.3k but it's only done 9k miles and is in mint condition, isn't going to stop me using it though due to the price. But the same would apply for an £8k bike.

Tall_Paul, I'm guessing from your statement of spending 20 days of your holiday biking that your free and single? :p I'm married with a 2year old son and 3year old boxer dog so my free time is very much taken up 99% of the time. Just be mindful of all of these great plans for a second bike, in a few years you may find you don't have time for all that haha :D

ROAD RAGE!!!

Going round a roundabout and not 1 but 2 people pull out in front of me. The 2nd one slowed right down so i could easily pass, the 1st (a little "smart" car) didn't see me until i was so close i could've open their door.

Short tempered me came out, i overtook quickly and braked maybe a little sharper than he expected, then shot off. It wasn't worth it, but one of those "in the moment" off the cuff reactions to some bell-piece not looking.

What car is that? (I like pictures :p)

I had a silly woman cut me up at traffic lights yesterday, I was quite annoyed. The layout of the junction changed about 2 months ago, before if you were in the right lane that meant you could go in lane 2 or 3 of the next bit, but now if you start in the right lane you have to stay in the right lane.

She obviously hasn't seen the 3 signs about this yet. Had to brake quite hard.

Cleaned and lubed my chain using MOTUL C1 CHAIN CLEAN and MOTUL C2 ROAD CHAIN LUBE...
Re-applied some ACF50 (not on the chain :))

Well I've been a bit lazy lately & haven't done anything more to my bike apart from ride it, I am sitting here now trying to build up some energy/enthusiasm to do summit but I go get the bike out think **** it & go get my leathers on & go out on it. I've even got some nice Satin Black paint & my wet & dry sorted but that's been on the table staring at me for a good few days now, I'll get round to it. :p

Haha, yeah I'm single, no commitments or little people to take care of. If I wanted to bugger off for the weekend, or a week down to the alps (work holiday permitting) there's nothing stopping me :D

An H2 came in today, in it's crate, and it's the first one I've seen close up. Very nice bike.

We get Panigale's in weekly, 4 last Friday for customers that are due to go out this weekend, as well as RSV4's so I'm a bit immune to them now but the H2 was a new one for me.
