What did you do to your bike today?

Stand behind the bike, hold spanner with the left hand and then undo the nut by pressing down with your right hand.

Looks like that needs a wd40 bath though!

How can you not get a spanner on both bolts by yourself?

Just how tiny are your arms?

You are standing behind your bike with both spanners pointing directly backwards, right?

Get a breaker bar on one side so it is easy to reach?

And that nut and thread looks like it needs a good clean or replacement when you do get it off!

I'm imagining him sat on one side of the swing arm looking puzzled about how he's meant to reach the other side.

I really hope I'm wrong!

:p

Surely at most the bike is just over 1ft wide, maybe less? I see no reason why he can't reach both sides if he's standing behind the back wheel

Lol it's too tight for me to move with my arms, I can make the nut move around with my foot and I can reach the other side with a spanner but my arm isn't long enough to actually put any force on it. I have some big spanners but don't have a socket big enough so can't use the breaker bar.

Yer you need to soak that nut in wd40 and get some big sockets and a breaker bar. Individual sockets are cheap from eBay. Hell I got one reasonable from halfords as I ordered the wrong one by accident and couldn't wait.

Spanner is fine on the spindle side, pull up with your left and push down with your right. Again breaker bar massively helps but the nut looks seized good.

Do you have a wrench long enough to reach from the bolt to the floor? That way, it can't turn any more (once it hits the floor) and you can put all your strength into one side.

I'm not sure how you can't reach the other side to hold a spanner in place though, are you a t-rex? :D

just get a friend to hold the other spanner, far easier if its stuck

if it wasn't stuck best way is to sit on the floor behind the tyre with a leg each side and a spanner on each nut and undo it

Well my VFR stickers were posted today, got the email 15 minutes after putting the clear coat on the faring.

Also the r/h faring really didn't go well, the paint cracked and blistered all over, so i've spent most of today sanding and rubbing it back to the beginning. The other 2 pieces were fine, 1 more clear coat and they should be done.

did you use plastic primer? I used that when I sprayed mine

shouldn't crack then

EDIT: post some pics aswell when the decals are on and panels fitted,it'll look good

Put an original tool kit in the bike as it didn't come with one.

Luckily it fits alongside my bodge tool kit of a multi tool, superglue and black electrical tape :)

Rode it with new winter gloves :D

Not particularly cold, but they arrived yesterday and I wanted to give them a go. Comfy & warm :)

My indicator resistors also arrived, gave them a quick try and all is OK, so I'm fitting my new R&G micro LED indicators this weekend. It's going to look SO much better as my indicators will sit down above the number plate rather than sticking out above the exhausts.
