What did you do to your bike today?

I only rode faster bikes couple times and didn't really open it as they weren't mine. The car with its 'launch control' hits 0-62 in 8 seconds territory so that's twice quicker than my KTM, another thing is I can take other people in my car. Going to a party on Saturday after work, I can take my friend and her friend with me there. :p

Although said that, I'll do my A2 license and get a proper bike, lets be honest a 125 is a moped. :p

Your not missing much anyway this time of year, other than cold fingers n gentlemanly bits

Just lay up your KTM till summer? Then decide whether to sell or jump back in the saddle

That's one good thing about a bike, you never have to be a taxi ;)

Even a 40-50bhp A2 bike is quick, I mean 0-60mph in 5 seconds isn't slow.

Nah, I've had 'quick' cars - Golf GTI MkIII 16v, various 1.3l minis (orginial ones), and I'm a named driver on my dad's 2l 140bhp Audi A3, but unless you get something with 250-300bhp, it'll never compare to a bike.

I can keep up with a Golf R up to 70/80mph, they have 300bhp. When I drive a car now I never drive 'fast' now, cars are just so lardy and indirect.

I don't blame you waiting until spring to ride again though, it's not exactly fun through the british winter. I couldn't have a break for that long though, I'd go crazy having drive to work.

I can afford to drive to work and college, if I don't sell my bike now I'll still ride it. Just not in the rain or when the temp gets below 3-4c, I can't afford to buy winter motorcycle clothing now.

I know my car is not quick, my dad has a turboed 9-3 which was remapped, we reckon its around 250bhp. I drove this thing couple times to work when I had a 7am shift. So much fun, wheelspin whilst going 40mph. My car does a wheelspin when I'm in 2nd, on 3rd you really have to shoot from the clutch to have any kind of wheelspin of course on a private road! :p

Edit

But I'm not going to go 'fast' in this car, I'll drive it like a 70 year old pensioner. A night time cruise in a car relaxes me, on a bike I get more of a adrenaline rush. BTW I like the fact I can drive on motorways and I don't have to dress up in all the clothing. I like cars, not as much as bikes. But I still like them, I already have a list of thing I want for the car. I'm not a taxi, I offered the lift to them. :)

That's a vague statement wazza, both have their pros and cons. I'm enthusiastic about both, cars and bikes.

I'm not quitting riding, just taking a brake before I can ride something bigger. I'm happy with what I learned on my little 125 covering nearly 3000 miles, it helped me lots. I just won't get a 4k bike, it'll have to be around 2-2.5k, not a bad budget I think. At least it won't bother me if it gets wet in the rain or coverd in salt. :p

Power to weight there's no comparison

600cc there's not much to beat it,160mph,1000cc forget about it,186mph,Porsche boxster, r32's,Subaru's,evo's bye bye

I ****ed all over a corsa vxr on my zx6r two up aswell

That's what I'm trying to say, I'll buy a bike once it has decent power. When a little 125 is slower than a car, restricted to only dual carriageways and **** A roads when you need to commute somewhere quickly is not good, is it? I'll get a bike after I pass my A2, riding a bike is like riding a push bike you don't forget it.

Corsa PMSL :D

hehe

I only had two stroke 125's and I loved every minute on them, after passing I went 90mph on the motorway got some funny looks

anything around the 100bhp mark is plenty if you ask me,plenty power to get yourself killed that bit quicker:p

im not sure, the most thing you notice on a 1 litre is the instant torque, you don't have to change gears half as much up or down compared to a 600

my zx10r has something like 180bhp/165bhp at the wheel and you surely notice it,just faster faster acceleration and quicker to reach the top speed(you can enter and pull yourself out of corners without thinking about which gear to be in,it doesn't really matter where as a 600 will bog down)

my 600 its fast aslong as you ring its neck, but feels wooly in comparison, but it has around 109bhp

that budget will get you a nice 600, or a slightly higher milage 1000

for 2.5k you can pretty much be the fastest thing you'll see on the road except for more modern bikes lol :p

Trust me, 270bhp doesn't compare to a bike and feels slow compared to my 600
