What did you do to your bike today?

So i haven't done anything to my bike in 2 months. It's sat on it's 1jac with its wheels in the air and on a Optimate. I'm gonna drag it out of the garage this weekend and fire it up just to remember what it looks and sounds like. :(

Is it spring yet?! :(

That's far too efficient! Did you at least have to queue for 20 minutes?

No queue, as they had 20 desks, all labeled with their purpose.

I walked right up to the 'Johnny foreigner wants to pretend he's Swiss' desk and was served immediately.

I've never been so impressed with a government service in my life. I've been waiting 6 months for the idiots at Birmingham city council to refund my council tax...

I've been close but I havnt stopped riding yet. I've walked out onto the local roads as they arnt heavily used and checked them first.

Yesterday had me wishing I put a neck sock on though

Nice bike, Clovis. I have loads of R6s I'm watching on eBay. The best runs out in 15 minutes. Not that I plan on buying one until I pass. Just nice to watch them and see how much they go for lol.

I'm still waiting to hear from him :( I don't want to buy it now and then be rushed to pick it up, I start nights at the weekend and I know as soon as the weather picks up, the prices will shoot up!

That what you want for your first one then? I do like the R6 :)

What's wrong with black? We don't like racism on here.. ;) :p

Just not a fan of black bikes, some look great but it's not the best colour for a striple IMO.

Had clutch 'issues' this morning, on the way to work and I have to do some heavy filtering for a mile or so, lots of clutch slippage as normal with cars changing lanes without looking/indicating, business as usual. Get to the next roundabout where I have to slow down/change gears and I'm all over the place - finding neutral/revs all over the shot. I then realise that my clutch bite point has moved nearly an inch in the space of a mile, and there's now just under an inch of slack on the clutch! Got to work and adjusted the slack on the lever (had to adjust it by about a cm on the turning adjuster thingy) and now it should be back to normal.

So, are my clutch plates near to worn out? I had noticed over the last few months it's been getting a little 'grabby' at the bite point, i.e. I'll feed in the clutch and instead of it smoothly engaging it'll suddenly grab very slightly. The bike has done nearly 33k miles, it's on the original clutch.

Wazza - I know you're a man of knowledge when it comes to high mile maintenance! ;)

Edit: Also when cold the clutch has always been rattly (sound goes away when pulled in), but I think this is just a "they all do that sir" thing. When warm it's silent.

You should be fine yet, depends though on the model I guess

Did you check your cable isn't starting to Frey? Checked oil level? Mine was slipping a little due to being low on oil,its fine now,and yeah clutch rattle is pretty common, nothing to worry about

Black bikes are gorgeous, look stealthy and mean

I just thought that I'd better check the cable hasn't slipped, will have a look in a bit at lunch. Oil Level is fine, did an oil change a few months back but will double check. It's not slipping but then it is only having to deal with 50bhp. it is 15 years old now mind, and it's probably done more filtering in the last year than it's done in the previous 14 years :D

I'm not too fussed about the color, i won't be paying over the odds though for a white one, they seem to demand a good £400-£500 extra over the others, the white ones which are in line price wise with the black are either 2008 models with the older dials or CAT C/D.

Bummer, fingers crossed though.

Always, since I was in school at least, said if I was to get a motorcycle it would be a R6. Have always loved them. whether or not I get one is down to me really thinking it through. Not going to be the best bike to learn on but the heart wants what the heart wants lol:rolleyes:

Yeah :) Yeah you may as well get the bike you've wanted since you were a kid. :)

Bought a clutch cable as I think mine is on the way out. With the clutch all the way in, if I rev it quite high it will push the bike along :S
