What did you do to your bike today?

Finally unraveled the tape holding my front brake res on to check the damage, must have smacked it with my hand on the way down. Snapped the plastic where the mount holes join the res, bit of plastic epoxy putty and it'll be good as new by the morning.

I'm really tempted to swap my bike for a dual purpose, I live out of the city close to the pennies so looking around there's a fair few places to ride. Ribble valley isnt far nor is the peak district.

I'm only ever really going to commute 2.5miles to work on my bike so comfort isn't that important. Greenlaning on the weekend appeals more than just riding for the sake of it.

Might go test some new dual purpose bikes just to see if I like them on the road.

Anyone have one on here?

Checked my air filter today was pretty clean, idk why it starts to splutter on pull away once warm, maybe a dodgy plug, but these iridium ones aren't that old maybe 3 years

That would be awesome! What do you want for it?

Just a delivery address :D hit me in trust.

Long shot but maybe check the resistance on the carbs tps.. providing your carbs have one. I cant imagine they dont with it being a 98 model.

I'm with ConTRo13R in that electrical resistance could be the issue as it will only be an issue after the circuit gets warm

edit:

Done :)

idk what it is,it was doing it again today, soon as it gets warm it misses on pullaway and anything below 2k revs, higher revs are fine

I was thinking dodgy plug, somethings expanding when warm and causing it

Just put an offer on a bike, up for £3995, offered £3500, got to try Your luck haven't you :D

What bike? This is the time of year to get the bargains, I've been watching the prices of Multistrada pikes peak models (2013/14) and prices of some are about a grand less than they were going for few months ago. No-one buys a bike in Jan/feb, everyone is skint and the weather is crap. Best time to buy!! ;)

2010 triumph street triple, 9k miles, rear hugger, belly pan, screen, arrow exhausts, hpi clear and full triumph service history, also going from the pictures and the condition when I viewed was immaculate. :)

Lovely bike! Good luck with the purchase.

Thank you :) I'm in a dilemma now as I've just had a reply from someone selling a 2011/62 plate in white, 8k miles, colour coded fly screen, rear hugger and belly pan, original exhausts, bought the bike from brand new, the only downside is its in Glasgow and would take me 4 hours to get there :( but they'd take £3600 cash for it which is an absolute bargain.

Sounds like a fun ride back, and I do love the crystal white.

Double check it's the crystal white and not the cream white though as I think they changed it some time in 2011.

Very nice! Just a standard model? Have you test ridden one?

Edit: There's plenty of choice about for street triples, so don't rush :)

Yeah to both :) loved it, it's a standard street triple, with all the extras I want, would like one with arrow cans but I'll change them myself.

Anyone closer to Glasgow fancy checking it out for me? There's a crate of beer in it for you :p

Yeah that's all it is, also 9 more BHP! Can always change things if I want to, update the suspension etc, life's too short to second guess anything lol, I'll wait for them to reply to my last message and arrange to view it with the possibility of riding it back if I decide to take it. May need to give them £50 to hold it for me!

Fitted my new gear shifter last night, cracking the locknuts to undo the shift rod was a pain but apart from that and the numb fingers from the cold it was nice and straight forward.

Hoping it stays dry at the weekend and I can get the new LED indicators fitted all round, not looking forward to having to mess about stripping plastics off though.

The back is easy enough, it's the front that was a pain on mine. I left the side panels on as the bolts had rounded. It's just fiddly getting the lead off the jumper type socket which is mounted just behind the dash

According to my Haynes manual I've got to strip the front lip off my nose cone and the dash surround to have good access, I did have a problem with one of the connectors coming loose just before Christmas and it was bad enough trying to fiddle that without taking any plastics off so I don't fancy trying to fit a whole new set like that.

The main issue with the rears is probably going to be that the nuts will be seized from all the crap thrown up from the road.
