Hey,

I remember years ago (when 64K ISDN was considered lightning speed) I first used the internet around a friends house.

He logged on to find a cheat on some PC game (I think duke nukem 3d?) anyways, I remember thinking to myself "is this it?"

It didn't take more than a few minutes though before I became hooked :(

Thats the first thing i did when i got the internet :)

Except it was Psx crash bandicoot I got :p

I got hooked on being able to find out the answers to all the pointless little questions that always floated through my mind at times :)

I remeber when i orderd Pipex broadband 512kb back in 2003 if im right or maybe earlier,
When everything was connected i was like, this is super cool yo, like wtf yo.

lol

I used to think it was rubbish, and very clunky. Hardly anything move, it was all static pictures and text (and it still is, unfortunately). I delighted in spamming and trolling so many gay/lesbian chatrooms, and it's a pity they clamped down so much on those kind of things that my children won't experience the same thing when they're 13. :( The internet in its younger days was very Mad-max like.

I can't remember too many three letter acronyms now use up that part of my memory. I'm fairly sure before I first used the internet I could play the piano and even remember my parents first names.

I believe back in the day when i had "freeserve" the first thing i looked at was yahoo. I also remember they charged something like 5p a minute and the look on my dads face when the £200 phone bill came at the end of the month

Not much it just felt like a natural progression that we all knew was coming and that within years we would be using it for so many things.

AOL chat rooms, used to love going into the Yank chat rooms for a bit of banter before being kicked off, that and pRon :D

I sincerely hope one of your children turns out to be gay, quite frankly.

can remember being shown Mosaic on an X-term at uni back before it had been written for Windows 3.11
That and playing with IRC and using Monochrome BBS and the good old Gopher search engines. I had accounts all over the place. The joys of working at a uni that was "bleeding edge" when it came to networking.

Thought it was dull to start off with since there wasnt a huge amount out there.
Not untill browsers appeared for windows did it seem to take off.

lol i had some weird girl phoning my house in the middle of the night thanks to my mate and aol chat rooms.
