Not many odd ones.
I don't think I have any odd combos. Although some people think coronation chicken and coleslaw is odd as they are both Mayo base, but I don't think so. That's as strange as sandwiches go for me.
A good strong cheddar and strawberry jam is lovely on a nice crusty white. Marmite and marmalade is great, as is marmalade and banana. Weirdly I used to like bog standard white bread with plain hula hoops.
I've got 2 that might be classed as strange, but i promise they are amazing:
1 - Strong cheddar e.g. vintage + Vindaloo (or other chicken curry)
2- Tuna + vinagar + salad cream (not mayo)
To make the tuna use tuna in brine and cut the tin all the way around and squeeze dry then add plenty of vinegar then when absorbed mix with salad cream
PS. from subway, italian BMT with all gherkins and chilli sauce = win
I dont think my choice is odd , but I like tiger bread cut about an inch thick for each slice with smoked mackeral grilled and thats it so basically just a fish buttie. I also like to dip it in salad cream while im eating it mmmm lush.
I fell in love with New York style pastrami on rye when I first visited the States, I guess it might have once been considered 'odd' though nowadays you can buy pastrami sandwiches anywhere over here (though still nowhere near as good as they do them in the USA)
I am also a sucker for a good salt beef sandwich, I have visited all kinds of places in London in search of the perfect one and so far nothing beats Reubens deli in Baker Street. £12 is probably a little steep for most to pay for a sandwich, but it is honestly the best you will ever taste
