What do you sound like?

Same, but then I correct them, since they're usually not familiar with the accent, but it's "educated"

Gah, why is the language judgement backwards in this country? Why are we criticised for speaking correctly, when someone speaking fluent chav doesn't warrant any sort of reaction at all?

Next time someone calls you posh, just say it's all relative, which is a little more subtle than calling them common. ;) :p

lets face it most of you are students and these days you are pretty well off to go to IE: POSH public school english accents.

i havea mixof cockney and oxford educated posh voice - but i can flick to any accent for the situation.

so much workign class riff raff soiling these forums these daysm really stinkens the place up

I didn't attend a public school, nor am I a student. I just take a pride in my ability to communicate myself as best I can. For reasons unbeknownst to myself, the common majority decides to mock that.

Mumblers are far worse than any accent, however. When someone starts talking but doesn't start moving their jaw till mid sentence just irritates.

"..mmm.mm....with the trays in?" WHAT!?

Pretty neutral British accent I guess.

Most woman comment on my voice, deep and sultry apparently. I can hear random women smiling on the other end of the phone when I am at work. It's one of my better assets :D

I am from a posh part of Middlesbrough called Easterside, people mistake me for Brian Sewell when im getting fishcake and chips from the chippy :) do you know what i mean like.

I tend to mumble, talk fast and not open my mouth wide enough to let the words out clearly apparently :D

Add that onto an Australian Accent :p

It's when they see you and say "oh you're nothing like I imagined" that you should be disappointed. :p

I've been told that my accent is quite nice as well but very few people guess it right on the first go, ironically the less they know about Scotland the better chance they have as they're more likely to pick Edinburgh as the starting point. However I don't sound typical Edinburgh either apparantly or at least that is what I got told all through school.

my accent is totally unique - it's a mix of Zimbabwean, South African but with a hint of london in it too.

it gets people all confused.

I don't have an accent! I guess I must do but my freinds also grew up here so I never notice our accents. From Swindon, so ooh-arr farmer accent by stereotype I guess :D

Voice wise, pitch varies greatly from day to day, and even during the day! I cannot speak loudly at all but can shout like a maniac for a few seconds before my voice is ruined :D

I probably have some audio around but nowhere to host it.
