What does everybody do here?

Software Dev aka jack of all tasks, for a multibillion company. Best part is that a) I work same local as the studios b) the merchandising girls are um.. Nice

Currently work for the council in children's services dealing with vulnerable families.

About to jack it all in as I'm shortly due to be approved as a foster carer so I'll be doing that full time as of March. :)

Do you engrave them too? Do you proof read?

I only ask as the headstone backing on to my brother-in-law's grave is inscribed "If love could of saved you, you would of lived forever", which is a fine sentiment, but a pretty embarrassing message to take to the afterlife :D

Oh god, my brain.

I am Retard. From the day job anyway.

Did it at 50. Seven years ago. Before the stress did me in.

You only get one life.

I built a Ferarri F40 out of Lego today.

Couldn't wish for more really.. Apart from the real thing. Obviously.

Or an i8.

The little plaque on my desk says Network Manager facing outwards. On my side it says YouTube Watcher

Basically anything with a plug is my fault. My main stress is boredom, combating that with educating myself for my next leg up in the industry and general tomfoolery with lowly users

I know I am not one of the ones you quoted, but prior to my DBA days I was a DataStage designer/developer. This was for pretty much the full solution: solution design, dev, test, environment management and production support. I've also dabbled with Informatica, Ab Initio and Warehouse builder. As a DBA I now support people who use BI technologies in trying to achieve efficient extracting and loading from/to databases.

Which technologies do you use?

Oh, and I think Solutioneer is a great fit too! :)

I work with the Oracle EPM stack, primarily Essbase and Hyperion Planning. We have a number of other arms of the business to ranging from warehouse design to neural networking.

Solutioneer is a good term because you normally have to explain what this type of software does by explaining how its been used as a solution to something.

Did you used to make headstones?

Service/Software development. After 20 years it's started to wear very thin and I've felt myself beginning to wind down with it. Looking to semi-retire in the next few years and hopefully find a local shelf-stacking jaunt so I can focus on travel and reacquaint myself with my creative side, such that it is.
