What does everybody do here?

Manager for a global pharmaceutical company. Basically that means that after 10 years studying (BSC, PhD and post-doc) I now spend my time in meetings, pushing paper and dealing with "people management" issues. I'm about to change role though so hopefully I can get back to actually doing some real science again.

so few jobs in real science though :( and the pay sucks.
thats why i'm working in cosmetics which for the most part is branding and conning a gullible public to buy your product based on scientifically dubious claims!

I am a concrete technician. design and test concrete mixes whilst maintaining the lab accreditation.

just moved jobs this week, previous was the same but also developing concrete admixture, repair grouts/renders and also bagged cementious products I.e fencepost mix

Accountant

I'm part-time employed as a Finance Manager for one company and then I'm self employed doing the books for Sole Traders and SME's in the rest of my time

About as varied and interesting as accounts can get :p

I drive a rather large Scania for a well known haulier who's followed / plagued by saddo's who love to photograph their trucks. :p :D

No IT here. In the week I assess work for an accountancy qualification and tell students if they have failed or not, and also offer support to weaker students.

On the weekends I work for a trackday organiser, which is much more fun. Get to do a bit of office stuff and some marshalling.

Teach English to adults in various places. One private school, a few one on one classes, two groups at lifelong learning colleges, and two classes of MBA students from a local university.

Trying to consolidate all of that at the moment though, as it's too unreliable as a schedule. Still, enjoying it for now, working very little and living comfortably.
