What does everybody do here?

Registered Nurse. Currently in District Nursing, used to be Surgical.

I basically drive around all day listening to music, visiting sick people in their homes.

Love every minute of my job, the satisfaction at the end of the day is amazing.

I spent 20 minutes today speaking with a WW2 vet who hadn't had a visitor in 2 weeks, he flew Lancaster Bombers and the stories he told me were mind blowing! Then I did a blood test on him :)

Good on you! Refreshing to hear someone say they love their job.

Do you work for the Police or a Telco?

Civvie contracted to the Police.

Before that I was manager of a small front line IT team working for a Bank, the one which almost went under just after I left and had to be bought out by the government. I'm pretty sure my leaving and the Bank almost going belly up were unrelated... :D

i make sure kfc, mcdonalds, burgerking, etc etc has the fryers to make all you fatties your french fries etc.

I'm outsourced to a mobile network provider and do a lot of credit admin/finance work for debt collection agencies, great work which I really enjoy but pitiful wage so training to be a HGV driver.

Senior network engineer for a large UK based cloud, hosting, datacentre services company

Rather amusingly, I'm a 1st line support engineer for a back-end service provider. Basically I provide back end support for the 2nd/3rd line support team for a number of large domain resellers / mass hosting providers.

And honestly, I love it, I'm not tied to the phone all day, I get to follow issues from start to finish, and I learn lots of strange and interesting things every day.. Lots of interaction with domain registries.

I supply kit to the film industry. I'm a technician so I make sure everything is set up how they want it before they get it, do on-set repairs and troubleshooting, and maintain our kit etc. Cameras, lighting, grip.. Pretty much everything. I specialise in camera stabilisation, but I need to have a decent knowledge across all areas.

I love my job. I've done a lot of jobs, chef, insurance, and stills photography... But this is the first time I've taken a hobby as a career and its awesome.
