In one of our cars there is this suspitious looking button under steering wheel column which doesn't seem to be doing anything when pressed.

Anyone know what is it supposed to do?

He does have multiple cars...

Right, in that case then...

Is it a Mitsubishi?

I'd be safe to assume it'd be a Nissan. One of those sarcastic moods today :p

I'd go with the ariel theory, perhaps its there for when you go through car washes?

It's a Nissan. Nissan Largo, japanese import MPV which my brother use as van. The car has no folding aerial or tow bar, steering column is adjusted manualy with traditional handle under column. This button is out of sight, below steering column, next to break release handle. It clearly works up and down, but there is no sound or movement inside or outside when pressed. I saw similar button once before in a Terrano R3M, but picture was more aerial like without being so "in your face" fallic. It was for extending TV aerial from bumper. But this car has no TV, or additional radios, or holes in bumpers. I'm genuinly puzzled.

If it's an import perhaps it's something that used to be installed but subsequantly removed?
