What does this road sign mean.....

How do all these bot/troll/WUM accounts keep getting activated? A mate of mine tried to join these forums some time back, he never received an email and when he tried to log in to see what the score is it said the username he registered with doesn't exist.

It's possible that they found the thread while searching online for something, didn't notice the date and joined to answer the question. It's not the usual bot posting and it's not trolling. It might be legit.

Erm... Did you seriously read my post and conclude that a bot wrote it or that it is trolling?

No, you didn’t read it at all obviously.....

So that means you have acted like a bot or troll, not me lol. I gave a well thought out and relevant reply to a question that didn’t get answered correctly in the first 7 pages.

Edit: A bot that could read that question and give the answer that I gave would be worth millions and millions of pounds lol, I still think you didn’t read my answer at all before posing an offensive reply. So who is the troll? Ffs lol

Would you like to point out where the advertisement or link is (bot), or where the controversial bit is that is designed to get people wound up and arguing (troll).

FYI, Posting irrelevant and randomly accusatory answers is against the rules of this forum and I have reported the people who have done it in reply to my relevant and correct answer.

It is a derestriction sign positioned at the end of a restricted speed zone but frequently nowadays placed at intervals as repeaters on lamp standards etc. until the next speed restriction. A symptom of the over signage on our road system.

He didn’t ask what it means, he asked why they don’t just replace them with a 60mph limit, which I have conclusively answered above.

To be fair he could have just googled national speed limit and got his answer in seconds instead of years

It was answered in the second line of the OP's post with a link, 5 years ago.

could safely drive down that road at 40 (which would obviously be highly reckless) and it would be impossible to prosecute him or her if they killed somebody by doing it.

This is incorrect. Regardless of the limit you still have to drive to the conditions of the road. You don't get off killing someone just because a sign had a different limit.

@Jacksprat The reason someone suspected you to be a bot/troll wasn't personal. There has been a spate of very old threads being resurrected by new members.
