What film did you watch last night?

Anon

Went in knowing nothing about it, really enjoyed the Black Mirror vibes it gave off and cool general idea, but it suffers from a slightly underwhelming ending.

6.5/10

Game Night

Knew virtually nothing about the film and was pleasantly surprised, good characters and performances. No In Bruges but decent enough dark comedy.

Skyline Beyond, wow what did I just watch?!? Production wise it wasn't bad, effects were good and even the acting wasn't that bad considering the script but it comes across as if a 13 year old has seen the first one and was then asked what should be in the sequel.

Lot's of characters and events in it that served no purpose what so ever and just far too much crammed into it. 4.5/10

Steve Martin and Martin Short - An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life
2 people who really seem to get along well, onstage together ragging on each other for an entire show. Really enjoyed it, it's just nice and gentle.

I saw this a few months back. Have to say I agree with you. It's a bit of a mess.

I think you scored it about right, maybe 5/10 if I'm feeling generous.

Green Lantern

Was flicking through stuff on Amazon Prime trying to find something to watch and saw this notoriously bad film, figured I may as well have a laugh so fired it up. I honestly don't understand why it gets so much hate, okay it's not one of the best comic book films but it's definitely not the worst. The acting was good, the storys okay, and the effects are a bit silly but not really any worse that any other older film with a lot of CGI. Personally I thought this was a better film than the likes of Iron Man 3 or Civil War.

Gringo - 4/10 - A comedy/crime/business caper film where Charlize Theron was the best thing about this for me, oozing sexuality and a predators instinct when it comes to others at her work. Sharlto Copley and David Oyelowo did OK as a Bounty-Hunter type and a bumbling salesman who is set-up by his bosses but the rest of the cast, including Joel Edgerton, was either very poorly performed or had poor parts to play. The location shooting was fine but the story for the most part just wasn't that original or even good

Thoroughbreds - 6/10 -
Touted as "Heathers vs American Psycho" with a very strong performance from Olivia Cooke as the sociopathic half of a pair of unlikely friends. The rest of the cast is adequate, the story isn't the freshest take on this type of film but the performance of Cooke elevates this above normal.

Blade Runner (Original) - 8/10
I'm 31 and this was my first time watching this film. How it's evaded my viewing this long I'll never know. Really enjoyed it and can't believe it came out in 1982!

Sounds as bad as the first film, which is not surprising given; this sequel was written and directed by the same guy who wrote the first film and those Strause brothers (who directed the first film) produced it.

Those Strause brothers are great when it comes to SFX (their day job), but that's where their talents end....

Brawl in cell block 99 on Sky

Grindhouse prison drama from the director of Bone Tomahawk starring Vince Vaughn. Excellent performance from Vaughn and a sinister turn from Don Johnson. Some real graphic violence, not for the faint hearted, but overall an enjoyable film, but not one that will stick in the memory. 7/10.
