What film did you watch last night?

Extraction on Netflix

Enjoyable action romp with Thor oops, Chris Hemsworth, who has to extract a kid being held captive by an Indian crime boss chap.
Good action scenes (how did they film some of those?) that kept me entertained throughout the duration.

8/10

Ocean's 13

Better than the 2nd one, but that's not saying much. The first one, flaws and all - was easily the best of the series. Not much of a surprise really. :p

Raising Arizona - I'd seen it before, albeit over a decade ago and quite enjoyed it. However, upon a re-watch I found it to be a little too surreal for my tastes. I much prefer the quirky, but still real-world feel of The Big Lebowski, Fargo etc.

5/10

Coming to America. Always loved this film, and it was a bit surreal watching it again now. A film from a different era, that was really progressive at the time. Presumably would be considered politically incorrect by many, but really, I think the value system of the film is a really interesting hybrid. Or maybe I was just too baked!

Great film!!

Gretel and Hansel 4/10
Ok, I have to admit it looked pretty good visually but it's boring pretentious guff that doesn't actually know what it wants to be. Don't waste your time.

Enjoyed this as well and will give it the same score - 8/10

MIB International 6/10 ok disengage brain. All the quality were in neutral but it was well enough made. Trading on the name of better movies. Also Tessa Thompson is she good in anything, it’s not that she’s bad but I don’t see the appeal, looks, acting or humour?

Time Trap on Netflix

Not sure where to begin with this one!
It starts off going in one direction, goes weird, goes even weirder, sort of turns into a comedy and then goes weirdest yet.
Important thing was it actually held my interest all the way through so it was doing something right!

It's definitely worth a watch - don't read any reviews about it though, it'll just spoil the weirdness!

Extraction on Netflix last night. Chris Hemsworth makes a pretty good part as the mercenary tasked with bringing a druglords kidnapped kid back to India. Good action scenes, a bit John Wick-styled. The movie is better than I would expect from seeing the trailer and I give it a 7/10.

Extraction and enjoyed it, very good fight and action scenes, exactly what I was in the mood for. Bit a annoying that the narrative scenes were so quiet and the action scenes so loud, constantly messing with the volume but other than that it was good.

7/10

The Land Before Time - The 80’s dinosaur cartoon. Put this on for a light watch and holy **** this was horrendously sad!! Pass the tissues! There really is a strange amount of death in some children’s 80’s films. I particularly ‘enjoy’ how doing the whole Mufasa thing wasn’t enough, they then have to double-down on the sadness with that ‘shadow scene’. Jeez!

Actually a very good film with a very pleasing run time of ~70 minutes. Not something I’d just shove a child in front of unsupervised though. I had seen it before, but I must have repressed my memories of how brutal it is!

6 Underground - not bad, after reading some reviews on here I didn’t have high hopes but overall I enjoyed it for some light hearted full on action! 6/10 from me

The Rise of Skywalker - only just got round to watching this, having somehow managed to avoid spoilers since it's release. Enjoyable end to Skywalker Saga despite some glaring problems - 6/10.
