What film did you watch last night?

Tenet

I'm not a huge Christopher Nolan fan, but I thought it was fine, not great. I didn't find it overly confusing but I would like to watch the end section again as there were a couple of bits that lost me. I also agree with others about the sound mix, there were a few times I was straining to hear what was being said, maybe subtitles next time.

6.5/10

The Prestige. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482571/

I thought I'd already seen this but apparently not (maybe a few mins, that's all). I generally enjoy Bale's performances a lot and Jackman was also on top form.

If you're a fan of either one of their work then check this out. Michael Caine also contributes very well to the film.

Love this. Probably my favourite Nolan film.

T2 on ITV4 last night. Was meant to go to bed as up for work at 5am but decided to watch the whole thing and went to bed at 12. For a film 30 years old the effects stand up so well and it just never gets old. Easily Cameron's best ever film and easily in my top 3 movies of all time.

I still kick myself for missing the 3d re release in cinemas.

The New Mutants

Yeah... Nope. I like the cast; Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton & Anya Taylor-Joy.

This was just boring and a bit too YA for old me. As I understand it, reshoots were planned but never happened and I reckon Disney/Marvel just wanted it out of the way. Surprised it didn't go straight to VOD.

A generous 3/10

Great list of movies but I'm really struggling to get my head around this! Anyone else?

Ha! Yeah i see what you mean.

Haven't watched any of those 3 yet - so might have to have a rethink.

Although looking at the ratings now, they seem to be a 15, as oppose an X/18 originally.

Was The Lost Boys ever 18? I remember Alien/Aliens being so, unsure if they've changed, but I could swear even my copy of TLB on VHS was 15. I am getting on a bit now though. :D

Might have to re-watch all three after thinking about them so much. :p

Mannequin - 1987

NEVER SAW IT TILL LAST NIGHT.

Kim Cattrall was an ABSOLUTE smoke machine.

I love 80's films and this was 80's through and through and the soundtrack is a banger...

I have reviewed Mannequin not once, but twice in this very thread! How has it taken you so long to watch it? IT IS MAXIMUM 80's!

Oh i love Mannequin!! I don't like all 80s movies (though to be fair I've not seen all of them!) but when I saw this for the first time a few years back I fell in love with it immediately :D

Watched The Good Liar last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't want to say too much to give it away.
Before I even started it I did think "I bet this is how it turns out" and my guess was right but there were quite a few surprises along the way.

Definitely worth a watch if you haven't already

#Alive - 6/10

Another Korean zombie flick. Thought it was a bit slow paced and with only 2 main protagonists it didn't have the suspense of who could be killed.

Definitely no Train to Busan

Descent - 7/10

A standard schlock horror feature that employs jump scares mainly, but one that for some reason actually works well imo. Second time I've seen it and has scared me both times, I do wonder if the base line of panic I feel watching them potholing has something to do with it :D

It's definitely the potholing. You wouldn't get me down there for a pension. Good film though.
