What film did you watch last night?

Star Trek: Section 31

There are some decent actors in this; I always like seeing Michelle Yeoh and Omari Hardwick tries his best but the script is just so poor that not even they can elevate it beyond mediocrity/awfulness. Most of my score is achieved because of some of the impressive cinematography and SFX.

4/10
Decent actors? Where?!

Michelle Yeoh is not the best actor - although she was very good in Everything Everywhere. She was never very good in ST, i liked her character, but not the actor playing her.

The only character/actor i thought was any good was Omari. Just a shame the script let him down.

Crouching Tiger, Sunshine, The Lady, Marco Polo etc. I could go on but I'm not going to list all the stuff that I've watched where Michelle Yeoh has been decent in suffice it to say, she's won an Oscar.

Omari Hardwick is a decent actor, which you have just agreed with so you seem to be contradicting your opening premise.

Saw Crouching Tiger many years ago, not seen the others - maybe i'm basing my thoughts on ST Discovery only - in that she was pants - one range of emotion.

But fair point on the others.

Misery (1990) 9/10

I've only ever seen the ending scene before, but just watched the whole movie. Excellent horror-thriller and amazing performance from Kathy Bates.

I feel like she's noticeable better when she's not speaking English.
