What film did you watch last night?

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country - 4/5

Great film. A return to form after the average fifth film. Well done to the person/s who decided to bring back Nicholas Meyer. :D

I watched The Orphanage last night (first film in a while), which I think was worth an easy 7 out of 10n, possibly an 8.

It was genuinely creepy in places, which is something a lot of "horror" or "thriller" films aren't these days (they often seem to rely on gore), with some quite unexpected bits :)

Hop - kids film about easter. 3/10
Red Riding Hood - Twilight without vampires. 3/10
Texas Chainsaw: The Beginning - platoon sergent from Full Metal Jacket is always amusing and one girl had nice boobs. 3/10
The Clinic - OK Aussie horror film. 5/10

American Beauty - I hadn't seen this since the cinema and I know it has had claims that it was overrated and all but I thought that it was just as good now as it was then. Kevin Spacey was brilliant and the whole film was very well made. Not too bothered by the floating plastic bag though. 5/5

Tranny 3, dark of the moon.

Passed on it in the cinema after the nightmare that was sitting needing a pee during the 2nd film.

Not as bad as the 2nd, preferd the first.. id go 7/4/6 in order.

Amazing effects/cgi though, been watching a ton of the gen 1 cartoon on ytube of late. When you think back of then and now, can't help but think wow!

Check out Pans Labyrinth as well, same director, an even better movie.

Snow white and the huntsman (with the missus)

Utterly rubbish. It's slooooow and boring...
except the snow white actress is very cute and charming :)

The Pact - In the dark with the missus and she was cacking herself, I found a few parts where it was slightly scary of a jumpy nature but it wasn't that creeeepy I'd say. Bit of a lacklustre ending too. Can't say much without giving it away but wimpy comes to mind.

6/10 - not worth watching again

Watched quite a few recently:

Safe house - was very good and I actually liked Ryan Reynolds for once, usually can't stand him but his acting was pretty damn good in this and as usual Denzel was exceptional :p Made a good pair in this tbh Story was pretty good as well, a bit straight forward and kind of obvious twist in the end, ignoring a few plot holes and stupid decisions :p I would give it 7/10

Kick ass - Never seen this, but remember seeing the ad for it when it was being released and thought it was just going to be a stupid cheesy hero film but wow how wrong was I! Superb action/fight scenes, great comedy and was pretty violent/gruesome, which I was not expecting at all and the funny parts were actually funny :p Nicholas Cage suited his part perfectly as well as the wee girl (couldn't believe some of the scenes for her considering her age at the time as well  Great actress) Also great music  8/10

Wrath of the titans - wasn't great, loved clash of the titans but this just felt rather pointless and some scenes just had no point to them at all Also Perseus seemed much weaker in this than COTT, could barely do anything against anyone and was always left out of breath or barely standing at the end of an encounter and Chronus was just a giant walking lava monster who was incredibly slow and seemed very thick :p :o Could go on and on about other stuff that was poor but I won't :p Only good thing about it was Zeus and Hades scenes and the special effects 5/10

Underworld Awakening - liked this a fair bit, it actually had a pretty good storyline and twist I thought  :o Great action scenes and good acting by most of the cast although didn't like the giant lycan/almost invincible idea and wasn't keen on the girl hybrid, would have preferred it if they just left her out and used Michael instead, also wasn't keen on the way that all the vampires (except Selena and David) seemed like weaklings against both humans and lycans and more so that humans were able to overpower both of them so easily.........but it was enjoyable so 7/10

Machine Gun Preacher...had me choked up in a few parts, haven't had a movie do that for a while, loved the shots of the real Sam at the end. A solid 7.5/8 out of 10

Donnie Darko (directors cut) - 5/10
Disappointing compared to the normal edition. Tries to explain the various elements within the film and fails completely. I don't understand the change of intro music either from echo and the bunnymen to INXS.

The Pact - 5/10. Not gonna lie i jumped twice throughout it all. Theres no dialog.. its all frowny faces and screams.
