What games do you consider "too long"?

probably ones where you feel your doing the same thing over and over again and theres not really much difference to it, i know people arent keen on mmogs which are like it but at least they develop

I dont find any games too long. I feel you only find them long if you dont enjoy them that much and are just playing for the sake of it. If your really into a game it'll pass by without you realising it.

I thought Half-life 2 was over-long in parts, like when you get that hovercraft or the beach buggy. When I was playing through both sections it felt like they had been padded out just for the sake of it, not due to them wanting to throwing in even more meaningful content.

Kal Online, you get to a point around level 30 where your'e just smacking the same monsters over and over and over to level up just to find out your still as weak as you was on the last level which forces you to smack those same monsters again but for even less experience so it takes longer to level up. That game is just evil, it gives you no feeling of accomplishment at all.

don't know if this has been said but oblivion for me could have easily been shortened down. I don't mean another of the proper quests like main story, mages guild, fighters guild, dark brotherhood etc as they were all spot on tbh, well maybe not the main story was boring and short, but anyway the side things to do like the amount of oblivion gates and caves and ruins in the game could easily have been shortened down to a quater. I found that once you have found 2/3 they basically are all the same, providing nothing but some loot and just have some bad guys in them and thats it. it eventually got to the point that i didn't care about them and would never go in them. I think gameplay would have improved so much more if it was a challenge to find them as it would mean you'd wonder around in the amazingly beautiful woods just looknig for a hidden ruin rather then walking 10 seconds to see another has popped up on the map, oh and then another etc.

Half Life 1 dragged out, I did get kind of bored with it, Half life 2 on the other hand was just the right length and was great.

prefered outcast to acadamey here outcast was a slow starter but once you got the lightsaber it was like no other fps

acadamey seemed more like a add on to me less structured storyline i liked the darth maul lightsaber but not much else about it think they should maybe have took more time developing it and maybe a more modern engine

Was academy the one with the huge Rancor that chased you around a massive level? :D if so thats my fav jedi game.

What I liked about Academy was that it gave you some choice over what missions you wanted to do, equipment loadout etc, and what force powers you wanted to learn. Gave it a little RPG progression element to it.

FEAR and STALKER

FEAR for me became pretty repetitive, and a lot of the office areas were very samey and felt like another cookie-cutter area I had to slow-mo headshot my way through. STALKER dragged on and I never had the incentive to complete it after getting a decent way in. I much prefer shorter intense cinematic games like HL2:Ep2/Call of Duty etc.

Yes ironically you gave up on the final boss.

I've never found a game too long. I never managed to finish either Black and White or Black and White 2, due to difficulty of the last levels. I'm a bit rubbish and i refuse to cheat. Also, Dawn of War bored me to tears.

Dawn of War gets boring about a quarter of the way in. It just becomes a case of build as many units as possible and lay waste to the enemy.

I don't know about the multiplayer but there is absolutely no strategy in DoW single player.

FFX is brilliant. One of the hardest too in some places - especially getting the player's best weapons. I am sure there are a few dents on my bedroom wall from trying to get Tidus' ultimate weapon :p

You really should play FF7 and 8. FF7 probably has the best story of them all, it is also very dark in places. FF8 is my favourite as it was my first Final Fantasy.

FF9 is not bad... felt a bit rushed in places though. FFX-2 was dire.
