What gaming mouse do you use for FPS gaming?

I do really like my Sensei but I'm pretty tempted by the new G700s as I want a wireless mouse, I assume it's just a rebadged G700 but will have to read up on it...

Well, I actually bought a G700s and while nice, I'd be hard pushed to recommend it over other mice.

What is it which makes you prefer it?

I can get a G400 for £30 or a G500 for £33.

Edit; What's the real world difference between optical and laser?

When I use my mouse for gaming, I lift the mouse up from the mousepad sometimes to get more room, or get comfortably with the mouse.

With the G500 the cursor will flicker which isn't want I want when I am aiming in Counter Strike (I end up looking at the floor, or the sky :p).

G400 does not do this, so for me it is better.

Don't get me wrong, both are great, but the G500 does not work for me unfortunately because of that. However, others don't use a mouse weird like me, and can get away with it. :)

G400 it is then as I do that too. Cheers.

I've also seen different feet for them which I presume are just stick on to make the mouse glide across the mat faster?

Or are they pointless?

You can control the lift distance on the SteelSeries Sensei at least, not sure about others:

ExactLift determines how high you have to raise the mouse before it stops tracking. Setting a lift distance too high may accidentally move the cursor when you try to reposition your mouse, while setting it too low may accidentally lose the tracking of your mouse while moving. Try to find a right balance that is comfortable for your hand and is compatible with the surface you are working on.

For the older model they were good, but with the G400 now, it is not needed that much. - They have big feet on them now. :)

Buy one and I am sure you will not be disappointed, and we have a 14 day satisfaction too, so if you were unhappy with it, you can return it. :)

I find optical mice tend to track better at high acceleration. Also they are more forgiving when it comes to dust/choice of mouspad.

If you use high DPI/sensitivity in game then you probably won't notice the difference.

2001 Microsoft Intellimouse optical, granted it does look a tad futuristic next to my 1996 Cherry G80-3000HFMGB Keyboard but I can live with it :P

I am considering a Razer Hex League of Legends edition, but the price is ridiculous for whats essentially a more basic version of the mouse they sell for £20 less (I wan't a lol edition as it has a matte surface whereas the base version has a pretty looking glossy one which = sweat).

G500 but its being sent to logitech to fix/replace as the buttons don't register properly. Which means in the meantime I will have to use my Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 from my laptop lol

Razer Naga here, I can't get away from the additional buttons. Even in an FPS game there are so many fun and functional things I can do with them, extra commands such as server specific commands or simply chat macros for certain moments/teamwork.
