No love for the LoZ series? Some of the most easilly recogniseable and epic tracks around. My personal favorite is the Wind Waker; there's not a single melody in that game that I don't know by heart. Just makes the game so much fun to play. TP was good, too, but had an overall less optimistic tone.

I also have a soft-spot for the older Castlevania themes. "Vampire Killer" or "Bloody Tears" were both amazing. They really knew how to get the most out of the NES!

Obligatory Halo mentions

Crysis 2

There is still good music out there, but I think games no longer rely on a decent sound track to make their sales. It's a shame.

Glad someone stuck hell march from Red Alert in there, definitely a classic although not necessarily great. ;)

Not a PC game but a friend of mine told me about the soundtrack to Buck Bumble on the N64. The game is terrible but the music is catchy

For actual great music in a modern game though I'd have to recommend the soundtrack from Risk Of Rain. Really adds to the game
