What happened to proper cats?

My great grandmother used to feed stray cats in her house.

Some of them were wild. If you went in to the front room to sit down you'd just hear a hissing and that long meow some make.

They would also hide in and around furnature too. They jumped out at a few people.

But they never did anything to my great grandmother.

That's the woman who had one eye and a ragged ear, right? ;)

It seems that all modern cats are weak, probably due to health and safety gone mad, or something.

My previous cat was a one eared white tom, with a very aggressive temperament.

The current one might as well be a beanbag.

Perhaps there's some online course it could go on to gain alpha status.... ;)

Things have changed, some people like to walk their cats on a lead now.
Also many more cats are neutered which reduces the number of fights (and massively reduces the number of strays), and far fewer working cats.

It's like the old white dog poo thing, it disappeared largely due to changes in how people looked after their animals.

We seem to have fewer cats wondering around my area now, but the ones that are there tend to look far healthier on average.

I saw the biggest cat I've ever seen sat in the driver's seat of a parked van this week, it was massive I stood there staring at it in disbelief I've never seen anything like it

Didn't your mum teach you it's rude to stare, even at a massive pussy driving a van.

Cats today, much like teenagers, bare emotional rather than physical scars. Their lustrous fur and neatly trimmed nails hide the deep anxiety they suffer as a result of childhood trauma. Adverse Kittenhood Events such as being fed Morrisons own brand cat food, or getting the hose from the neighbour as they deposit their **** in amongst the begonias, really **** with the little dears.

Old cats used to be whipped into shape at the sight of a burlap sack and a brick, knowing the bottom of the local canal was their destiny if they soiled Mr. Smith’s dahlia beds. Nowadays cats don’t even know they’re alive with their scratching posts and smoked mackerel and onlyfans. Makes me sick.

The cats are drinking and eating in the most posh & expensive restaurants and got enough money for top cat doctors and surgeons to take care of any accidents they might get into.

They also have the best of the best makeup artists and groomers around.

It's tough been a cat.

Its true, I don't think my cat now scraps half as much as the two I had growing up in the 80s/90s
