Not taking into account family, health, etc. (as they have all been fine so far), this year has been my worst as an adult.
I set up a company a couple of years ago for some guys a used to work with. They gave me a brief indicating that they wanted the company to operate the exact opposite of how the previous company we worked for operated - this was perfect as I left the initial company due to stress issues. They've since turned this new company into my old company x 10. And the investors currently are witholding monies owed to me
Also, they accidentally paid me on the wrong tax code for a few months of last year, meaning that I have a hefty tax bill to pay. I have no problem at all with paying the tax I owe, however they (and the accountants) reassured me everything was fine with the payments and I spent the money on a house. Now I need to pay it back - financially speaking, this has put me back by a year.
The company I've been building has been Ok, but the guy I've been training up quit on Thursday. Professionally speaking, this has put me back by a year.
Took two holidays this year. One was to Croatia. Wanted something quiet, relaxing and spoilt. Booked a luxurious spa-type place. Got there and found out all their spa and leisure stuff was under refurbishment... The second holiday was to Mallorca with my mate and his family. Wanted something to take my mind off how bad the year was going. Got burgled, and lost iPod, laptop, bag, etc.
I'd like to write this year off completely, but due to the impending banking crisis next year looks like it's going to be even tougher!
