What has 2011 been like for you?

It's been a good year for me.

Got a job which I really enjoy at the beginning of the year, started my career after university.
Got good friends and family, in the process of buying a flat.

Only downside is the weight I put on :(

Been a good one so far, I came back from Australia into a good job, had a knee operation to fix my squeaky wheels, then met my girlfriend, moved in with my girlfriend, passed my ITIL/CCNA exams and am now looking to move into a consulting role. Only downside is the relationship doesnt appear to be one thats going to last - but you cant win everything.

Busy year with some highs and lows. Wife had a miscarriage earlier in year, but now pregnant again and all ok at 17 weeks in. Made a partner at work much sooner than had been expected, which is great timing given starting a family.

Feel very positive moving forward for 2012

This year for me has been relatively mediocre.

- Moved back in with mother whilst saving for travelling, losing the independence sucks, and because my diet isn't as strict and completely controlled by me, have lost 20lbs, tons of strength, and a heap of size :( But all my old clothes fit again, and I'm 2 belt notches tighter, which is nice.

- Saving for travelling, it has ruled the past 5 months of my life with 30% of take-home going into the travelling pot. Was amazed how I was living before saving, blowing my pay cheque each month. Being able to live comfortably (although not as many nice things)

- An 8/10 wanting to be with me is something I've chosen to pass up on as she has small boobs. Lifes a *****.

Average I guess. Next year should be better with the missus finishing her degree and having a job already lined up for her.

it hasn't been much better than my 2010 tbh

started the year with my father dying in January after 6 years of care homes/rehab/social fricking services,
small upside, me, my mum and sister finally got to move house from a hellhole to a very nice area/house,

On a plus note, finally started getting into photography, got some mildly decent equipment, just need to find some tog friends locally and get out shooting a fair bit more.

Overall it's been pretty good I'd say, better than my rubbish 2010. Did all the stuff I set out to do, except the Nurburgring(!)

+Really taken my career to the next level
+Found an ideal new girlfriend
+Went on holiday with my friends
+Earnt my house deposit

-Despite recovering from Prostate Cancer two years ago, my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer three weeks ago :(
-I've grown distant from some friends who've moved away and I've not had the time to keep up with
-Haven't got the cracking gym body I aspired to back in January (:D)

More positives that negatives, because I had a very positive attitude this year despite all the hard times which I believe served me well.

Bad year for me.

Closed our business. (June)
Partner diagnosed with breast cancer (August) and is currently having chemo.
My Grandma died (August).
Partners mum just had a heart attack and now has heart failure. (December)

My partner can't even see her mum due to the infection risk with the chemo, happy times.

Worst year of my life.

Utterly crap, 3 bad relationships and 2 months in hospital following a major operation.

Last relationship was the worst of the 3, infact I honestly hate her more than anyone else in my life, if i ever run into her again she will definitely be getting a falcon punch to the baby making factory.

Sorry to hear about everyone who has had a crap one so far.. :(

I've had an alright year, it's been a bit of a struggle and i've had to really work hard but everything has come good in the end, got a new flatmate who is my best mate at the moment, moving to a new bigger house in a couple of weeks time, and looking for some well deserved time off work over christmas to rest, recuperate and recover ready for 2012 (end of the world year!!)

Positives: Managed to stick at my job and adapt well to what was becoming an uphill struggle with fatigue and stress, i've learnt a lot from my job not just about IT, but about myself too.

Made some decent progress in the gym (took a 12month break from weight training) so glad to be back on the iron..

Sorted out some finance that had been following me around for a while.

Negatives:
Still forever alone, my time will come I swear...

It's been a Good year for me, I finished college, Moved from a dead end supermarket Job into a Job where I get to drive nice cars, make money if I put the effort in and am Somewhat my own boss at the age of 19 and in a tough economic climate..I'm happy!

Pretty much the same as previous years...

Really need to try get out the current rut I seem to be in but it's lasted for years now :(

My father died.
My grandmother died.
I was nearly bankrupted due to the first of the former.
I nearly lost my job, which has turned into my wanting to leave work and handing in my notice.

Saying that, I got with a wonderful girl at the end of last year and we've just moved in together, we have a sweet house and are very happy. My grandparents on my mother's side live to see out yet another year the doctors said that they shouldn't and they still live independently in their own home.

And I'm significantly wealthier than I was this time last year.

All in all a mixed bag of a year - the wealth is a trade off of my father's death, and I'm sure you can work out which I would have preferred given the choice, but hey ho.

Here's to 2012 being a cracker!

+ Worked and travelled to a few places I haven't been to before (Istanbul, Sweden & Finland)

+ Moved to a new job, paying more

+ Finally built a new PC (;))

+ Brought property and moved in with the misses - Birmingham way (going well)

- Not enjoying new job...manager doesn't care and not what was discussed in interview. Very unhappy and genuinely dislike working

+ As I am not one to hang around, I went hunting - offered new job at a well known bank starting early next year :) I am yet to hand in my notice though...could be interesting

So up's and down's really :)
