What have you done to your car today?

Theres a spec of dust on the passenger side lower right seat bolster! ;)

Nice and tidy. Even the tiny details of your car are impeccably well looked after. :)

You have to admire someone that drives it daily and keeps it pretty much immaculate, although the old style battered £1 coin is letting the side down!

Other news, my new headunit arrived on the weekend (I got an upgrade to a newer android unit due to promises made that never materialised).. Unsurprisingly aside from the 4g built in ( I previously just using a mobile hotspot in the glovebox for 4G data on the move) its just a little bit better all-round and more than good enough to bring modern stuff into an ever agin

I was expecting a bit more 'signal' as 4G is very patchy on my phone, but only a little better on this which has 2 large antenna pads which are mounted in the corners of the windscreen trim (out the way).

And sods law, the car was idling for nearly 1.5 hours as the battery was a little flat from not being used all week (the joys of walking to work) and just as I set off, the DSC/Brake warning lights popped on (indicating a DSC issue), lucking having Carly on the head unit I just checked the error codes and it's a fairly cheap ABS pressure sensor (probably heat soak affecting it), so will get that changed ASAP, although not having DSC permanently did lead to a bit of fun, and again more appreciation of the LSD in these things, amazingly controllable..

Why would you idle it for over an hour?
Why not just drive it for 30 minutes instead or hook up a battery charger

Idling is the most damaging thing you can do for the engine and the alternator isnt even working at peak efficiency when idling.

Got a new exhaust system fitted due to the previous one rusting out...custom made stainless system built and fitted for less than I could get a decent standard system for (without fitting), can't complain at that!

Simple really, it's a bit hard to commission a complex head unit whilst driving! I agree it's not ideal but having been stuck in some pretty hefty traffic jams over the years, its something I'd expect a car to reasonably handle. I only intended for it to take 10 or 20 minutes, but there is a lot of stuff to configure and get just how you need it..

However I will just hook up a battery charger on the drive next time; I didn't have one to hand this time (lent to a friend)..

Properly cleaned up my Civic Type R and listed it for sale on a few groups on Facebook today.
Getting alignment sorted tomorrow then will pop on eBay / AutoTrader.
Fingers crossed it sells quick..

Not specifically done anything to it yet but plugged my fault reader in to the Z4 find out I've got a misfire on Cyl 5 :/ Another issue to put on the list already got a coil and a set of sparks on the way so should be done on the weekend, spending the rest of the week in the Accord.

Not gonna lie, my old Mk2 Clio has been more reliable than my Z4 and I had it for 5 years (put 60k miles on it), my mother now owns (abuses) it for 2 years and still going strong with no issues.

Which ones more complicated?

Following on from the charging cable from the cupholder mod the other day, today arrived a dual 12v socket with built in Quick Charge 3.0 and standard 2.4A 5V USB ports. The full mod is now completed. The glovebox is a bit messier inside now, but it is a glovebox...

I also reached a new level of sad today by replacing the worn and faded key fob badges with new ones.

The one on the right is the key from BMKeys, it's an aluminium badge, so scratches easy. The replacement ones are domed, so won't scratch.

How riveting.

What are you planning on having next?

Just going for a motorbike and will insure my dads Polo for a bit to keep No Claims Discount going. My car premiums show no signs of decreasing until 2 years since my last claim and tbh I can't really justify spending another £1500 on insurance again come renewal in a few months.
