What have you done to your car today?

Work in progress but changing the dash air vents in my Noble.

Standard vents;

And 2015 Audi A3 air vents being fitted;

Idea is that these will give better direction and adjustment than the standard vents fitted in the Noble :)

NB: WIP photo obviously hence all the fibreglass dust etc, I'll share photos when it's all properly finished/cleaned up too :p

New numberplate, numberplate holder, cleaned exhaust tip, partial de-badge. I think it looks much better. :)

Paint quality looks really good - have you gone over it with a machine polisher yet?
Thanks, and no, the finish is OK, little bit swirly but not too bad. As far as I can tell the front bumper isn't original as the paint doesn't quite match, and the bonnet and front wings have a lot of tiny stone chips which are really annoying. The rest of the car is in really good nick though.

How many Type R's you had for breakfast?

I'n not taking the discussion there... :p

Had another new tyre fitted to replace the one that I knackered at Curborough on Monday. Out of a brand new set in March, I've had to replace 2 of them.

First full set of tyres I've bought in years and this is what happens :rolleyes: ;)

Full geo next!

What method do you use for de badging?
I need to get my faded ST220 badge off the back.

Lets just say the glue was stubborn and I had to use petrol and a gentle scraping action followed by cutting compound. :p

Had to do the same on my old one too... The Octavia however, was fine with hot water and a fingernail!

Hot water always worked for me. Followed by some tar remover to get rid of residues.
Don't you need something to prise it off with? Would be a little worried about hot water the same as when people use a hairdryer.
It seems stuck on very well. I intend to take it off and replace it with a new one.

Dental floss followed by tar remover or rubbing alcohol and a good hand polish after that.

Floss will cut past the adhesive
Alcohol will clean the remaining off
Polish will get rid of the outline left by the badge.

Ok thanks. I will probably need the outline left on so I don't put the replacement badge on wonky lol

If you're replacing it then put some masking tape around the current badge as close as you can so you get the new one in the right spot.

2.2 tranny diesel engine.

Just been to look at one and when the engine is up to temperature and you remove the oil filler/dipstick caps there is smoke coming out. Smells like exhaust smoke. There isn't loads but you can easily see it. This normal?

Also noticed 1 of the injector seals must be weaping. Could this cause the above?

other than that the van drove absaloutly spot on. Just not sure on the above, give me room to negotiate or should i just avoid?
