What have you done to your car today?

Swore at it due to a flat battery.
Only fitted the battery 2 weeks ago too!
Buying a multi meter tonight so I can find out whats draining it.

my mum kept on getting a flat battery on her Focus, turns out it was the Ford radio draining it, she got a new head unit and all is well

Changed the window regulator on the A4 drivers door. The old one was properly trashed, no wonder the window didn't work.

Not sure how long it's supposed to take, but it took me about 2 hours, including making the kids tea in between. So I'm not too worried about it. All went pretty painlessly too, so not too bad overall.

Still got a few bits and pieces to do to it, but I am meant to be going away with work Sat, so that can all wait until I get back. But at least I can now use a drive-through again.

Nearly had my cars front end re-arranged, travelling into work at about 5:40am a truck in front of me clipped a traffic cone which launched itself toward me, I couldn’t swerve due to a van on my near side and just braked, thankfully it flew straight over me landing sat upright in the road behind!

Woke me up, that’s for sure!

Never rush to get the car in the garage - spent a happy 30 min in the sleet outside putting mirror back cover back on - Caught it on arm of garage door - Grrrrr!

Ps - no room to move in garage.

Well, that's another very little thing for the A4. Someone local was breaking one, so I managed to pick up a black load cover, with cargo net for it. Looks much nicer now in the back.

Did you shout ‘DAAAAAAYYYTTTOOOOONNNAAAAA’ as it happened?

Sent my front calipers off for remanufacturing today at Bigg Red.

Emailed a couple of places about having the rear shoes re-lined, as I haven't been able to find anywhere that can still get hold of the shoes for my car - they all stock the shoes for the self-adjusting rear brakes which came in slightly after my car. PITA.

Cylinders and hoses are going to get ordered soon, this has got pretty expensive >_<

Got my drivers side wing mirror clipped by a passing flatbed refuse lorry. They pulled out to pass two parked vehicles and overran the centre line onto my side of the road. All happened as I was minutes away from the dealership I was visiting to discuss options on my next car. Luckily everything was recorded on my dashcam. Minor scuff on the outer casing of the mirror, mirror detached from the internal motor fixture but pretty much everything just clipped back together when I got to the dealership. Several cracks in the plastic bulb housing though :(.

Well the Clio broke spectacularly last night (electrics went haywire due to an earthing issue). So I've put my MX5 back on the road as luckily it was just about in MOT. Going to take it for an "MOT" next week hopefully. Clio is getting sold to pay for the engine parts to fix my Mini.

Can you not retrofit the self-adjusting brakes? Sounds easier and definitely cheaper in the long run if you cant get parts for current setup!

I guess it's possible, but I've had a quote for having the shoes relined which will work out at £60 inc VAT posted back to me, and they should last a decent amount of time, so I think that the aggro and expense of the swap would be pretty unlikely to pay for itself.

If I ever need a new axle (semi-likely) I'll try and ensure I get one that's more convenient!

Put my CTEK charger on the car yesterday as I have not started the R8 for 5 weeks and the battery was going to be on its lower levels. After 24 hours nicely conditioned and topped to full and now on continuous conditioning so come time to drive, hopefully next week when fitness levels allow, she will purr like a kitten....then scream like a banshee as I find some empty roads to open the taps. Missed driving the last few weeks, need to get back onto the horse and also give the car a clean as right now it's a brown car, not a red one.

Washed both cars, mine has loads of weird tar like stuff on it but it’s blue not black!?!?

Also some asshat has clearly clipped the back of it, scratch found while cleaning the filth off rear bumper :(

Hoovered and cleaned the interior of Rex, it seems to be the car I navigate to by default, despite having newer, nicer cars!

I’m going to take the dogs to the park tomorrow, have it an oil and filter change, topped up the washer fluid.

Finally, I wired in some after market seat warmers and put half a tank of diesel in it.
