What have you done to your car today?

Drove it into a bollard :(

I'm ready for "It'll T-Cut out" comments :p

Was curious what it'd do.

Annoyingly there were a huge walking group about 30m away just meeting to start a walk so i had a lot of people pointing and laughing :(

Looks like you got lucky (in relative terms) and didn’t damage that very expensive light cluster.

Yeah, been weighing up the pros and cons of going through insurance for the last 24hours but have decided its worth doing. Through running quotes with/without a claim it's only an extra £120 with the claim and declaring for 3yrs would mean around a £400 cost for increased premiums and then £100 for the excess.

From looking around i can buy a damaged bumper for around £150 but i'd never get it sprayed/fitted for under £300 i imagine. Not to mention any damage caused to the wheel arch liner and lower light.

I'd have thought you would be able to get it sprayed and fitted less than £300 but as you say, it's sometimes hard to tell what damage has been done beyond the bumper and the potential cost.

3rd replacement battery on the GT86 (4th in total). Dealer forgot to order the battery in so had to settle with one from their forecourt stock after 4 hours of head scratching. Good job there's a fresh 3 year warranty with each replacement, car seems to be eating them.

Do you drive your car daily? I know a weak battery is a much reported issue on the GT86, but my car is 5 years old now, with 70k miles and the original, weaker 48Ah battery has never failed on me. I can only imagine its because I drive it every day.

My first one died when it was a daily (48ah), 2nd one (65ah) started to struggle last winter but this winter has finished it off. Only gets driven 1-2 times a week but each time more than 25 miles, usually 50+ so enough of a run to keep it going for a few days but every trip this year I've had to jump start it. Toyota forgot to order a battery for today (it was booked in) so tried to supply their demo 48ah one but after 2 hours that one was also dead, so was supplied with one from their forecourt stock (nearly new 65ah). I've been given a 90's 6a battery charger to keep the car conditioned on the drive but I think I might try something a bit newer.

I think I've just been lucky. I've been telling myself that when it fails, I'll just buy a good quality aftermarket battery, but so far, it's been fine.

Fresh MOT - advisories on all of the lower camber/caster arm bushes. Will get them done at the next service in 9k miles. Took longer than I expected but at least the Mercedes lounge has comfy seats and good coffee.

Also surprised they had the turn signal repeater (mine was smashed at the end) and footwell storage net in stock for a 10 year old car! And at a price not much more than buying from eBay myself.

I ordered a Brochure from Ebay Japan, love it, super good condition, overly packed etc, but best of all a nice hand written thank you letter with some mini-origami, awesome!

MOT and service time. They picked up that the rear caliper handbrake mechanism was sticking so new caliper and pads needed.

I got the fuel-cam-follower checked (known weak spot on the 2.0 TFSI) and it was good as new. That's all of the known troublesome issues checked / replaced within the last 12 months, so sods law that the gearbox will munch itself in the next 1000 miles :D

Had a low oil warning light on my E46 - chucked some Asda cheapo oil in to keep me going until I get it serviced on Friday.

Also ordered some trim parts that were broken, and just about to pull the trigger on some track/tie rod ends from CP4L, hopefully get those done on Friday too ready for a 4WA and an MOT on the weekend.
