What have you done to your car today?

I paid for my van with Paypal, forgot my telephone banking password and ended up locking myself out of my account when trying to send the owner the money. Paypal proper saved my ass that night as she had another guy waiting to come view straight after me and wouldn't accept a deposit to hold it for me.

Cash is king for me. Only ever bought a car once via bt and that blew up.

Got my picture taken by a van....I fear. Still recovering from my medical challenges, my sighting is not up to standard, I NEVER miss vans, today I did.

The wait....

Clean licence, never been van'd, odds said only a matter of time, not least when I am not on my A game....to the extent I'd even gone the wrong ******* way.

Good idea.

Wait, what?

It's not a luxury car it's a 3 series 'rival' that feels every bit the rebadged Toyota that people assume it is..

Well yes it isn't a 7 series, but it'll be much better as a comfy daily driver than my MK1 mx5 :D I'm fine with Toyota, my z4 had interior that was cheaper feeling than my Mazda 3 haha.

Booked in to have my wheels refurbed this week, they didn't look their best but now there's a couple new marks thanks to tyre fitters!

Had planned on having them done after new tyres anyway, on the offchance the above happened, I'd be a lot more miffed if the wheels were newly finished!

Also going to pick up some CarPro c.quartz sealant and give them a good coating at the weekend, hopefully should last plenty of time!

Picked my 1990 GTI up after having its engine conversion finished, the old 8v 112Bhp engine was removed and replaced with an Audi S3 1.8T 210Bhp engine using the standard Audi ECU and wiring loom spliced into the orignal golf loom to retain the standard clocks etc.

Currently running it around on the standard factory map gently so any little niggles can be ironed out before it goes back in for a remap to approx 260/270Bhp.

lots more to do on the list for this car over the next year but atleast i can now drive it about again having been off the road over the winter.

It had very little visible rot when I viewed it (all underneath sill covers, arch liners, carpet, boot trims, etc), came with a full years MOT, was owned by an old chap, and had a book of reciepts including several in the few months prior to my buying it for £600+. Seemed like a solid way into E30 ownership.

Nope. Thing was about 40% rot, 60% car. :p

Still, it makes me feel good knowing that it would have been destined for the scrapheap in the sky had it not been bought by a sentimental idiot like me... Saving it! :D
