What have you done to your car today?

Back in the Jetta after 4 days with a GT-R, and as expected it's completely miserable.

Outside of the fuel consumption and size the GTR does everything better, including comfort

The only thing I put in the cupholders were my keys, wallet and phone lol.

I don't drink in my car. That's what service stations are for.

So I've added a sub to my car, all wired in myself :)

Wasn't too hard to do, except for a broken fuse which I didn't notice at first.

It's not boomy, nor super bassy, it just adds some depth to the sound. Definitely a nice step up.

Reaches down pretty low (sub 30Hz I believe on normal mode)

Been experiencing some misfiring towards the end of longish journeys especially if I get caught in some stop start traffic, so tonight I will be picking up and fitting a new coil pack and plugs.

Done some more digging when I got home. Wasn't the coil or plugs, I was getting an o2 sensor error code caused by a faulty oil pressure switch letting oil into the loom and coat the plug connectors.

£5 switch and a can of contact cleaner later and the error code is gone.

Booked the AMG in for a service. Heard a loud thud on the front left side on the weekend and I now have a really annoying rattle. Combined with the check engine light that came and went I am expecting some kind of ridiculous bill.

Maybe I should just bail and pick up a TTRS.

Finally got project "Get My Car Working Again" underway by doing the rocker cover gasket. I should probably say this is the first time I've ever done anything spannery to my car (this time last year I needed to get Halfords to install the new battery for me).

To do:
Clutch and Brake fluid leak/flood (need the jacks first).
Clean all wheel sensors, replace if needed to get rid of traction control coming on and killing all power for an instant, every 10 seconds (MOT failure I think).
New thermostat in
MOT Tax Insure and central locking at the garage.

Assuming it passes MOT...
eBay pre-painted wings (£230 a pair, what could go wrong...)
Wheel refurb (depending on how the wings turn out)

fitted a new oil pressure switch in the middle of ECP car park in the peeing rain and washed out the O2 sensor plug with some contact cleaner, still getting an error after a short distance driving but hopefully once I've cleaned the other plugs of oil and done it a few more times over the next couple of weeks it should be all good.

Whoever thought fitting a switch that can fail and allow oil to seep into the insulation of the loom and end up filling your plugs with oil needs a slap.

Ebay special pre-painted wings will likely be: A) the wrong shape to fit properly. B) terrible quality. C) the wrong shade of paint and stand out like a sore thumb.

I also hope that you are getting someone else to do the wheel refurb, as whilst it’s possible to get an “ok” finish at home, the materials cost as well as time/effort just isn't worth it for the durability and longevity of the final result. Been there, tried that, comes in not much cheaper than a decent powder coating.

Congratulations on getting stuck into the oily bits though :)

Have you seen my current wings in the picture :P!

Yeah that's what I meant.
